Kero Quest 64 is a Collectathon 3D Platformer inspired by other games in the genre, especially those from the late 90s. You take control of Kero, a blue frog seeking to stop a prince from abusing his newly gained powers by collecting Magical Shards around the kingdom.
To each their own but for me these types of games are better remembered than played.
Do you mean specifically N64 art style or just semi-open 3D platformers?
Because even though lots of them are mediocre, you can still do these right for modern audiences. Super Mario Odyssey comes to mind, I had a blast playing it.
I’m talking collectathon games like banjo kazooie, dk 64, etc. 3d platformer can still be good like Mario odyssey and Astro bot.
I mean Super Mario 64 and Super Mario Odyssey really are a kind of collectathon too.
They just don’t push it to the extent of Rare’s stuff, and Odyssey in particular does a very good job of eliminating the tedious parts.
