    Sorry if this question is a downer… actually not sorry. My experience with women of your age is that you come in knowing a little more about what you do and what you don’ want but you have relatively little compassion for what a prospective partner may or my not want. I have had the following conversation with multiple women.

    Me: so are we doing the thing we planned to do tonight?
    Her: no, sorry one of my kids (young adult but definitely adult) needs me to do X.

    Her: (sensing my disappointment and getting defensive) I’m sorry but my children always come first.
