yeah, our math profs taught if the 2( is to be separated from that bracket for the implied multiplication then you do that math first, because the 2(1+2) is the same as (1+2)+(1+2) and not related to the first 6.

If it was a dull medical company people wouldn’t be itching to downvote you so quickly. Elon is bad for any PR these days. but even without his chip medical science places are doing electrical implants to stimulate “deadzones” in the brain. Seems helpful for certain things like parkinsons and schitzophrenia
Yeah we have that in Canada, you can choose to end it with doctor help via the MAID program. Lets people die with dignity.
I think what people are suggesting is doing all those steps will be more time and testing than just installing the os and adding apps.
Laptop or desktop?
Well, kinda. openSUSE is directly supported by nVidia, they have a repo that nVidia hosts for SUSE openSUSE, leap amd tumbleweed. zero issues on my OpenSUSE machines, so their issue might be some other config / codec issue. packman repo is suggeated over OPI repos
The thing with suse is nVidia maintains a repo for SUSE and OpenSUSE, so nVidia works well on it for obvious reasons.
Many people do dual drives, but if you install linux second and it is a distro thay uses grub with probe foreign OS them you don’t really need two drives. make space on windows drive, in the linux installer create another boot partition, root and home. You set bios to boot Linux grub. Grub will launch and give you linux or choice to chainload to Windows. Windows is unaware it is getting kicked off by grub so the Windows and Lunux boot partitions leave each other alone. i can’t vouch for every distro letting you setup like this but this is how my OoenSUSE has been since 2017
No worries. I get they can be beneficial, the photo was just ironic
Its not even a good comparison. I had GUI Linux running on a Wii console. I think Wii has 100MB of RAM.
I was only commenting on the wording under the picture claiming they place them where is no room for trees.
Or nice in person, then all the toxic bakstabbing behind the scenes.
This reads like the Sh*t My Dad says book. The author said it seemed harsh to some people, but the bonus was there was never any passive agressiveness, and you always knew exactly where you stood.
I don’t read it as celebrating abuse. clearly there are better ways to correct peoples mistakes. As adults I think we all recognize that. I assumed the upvotes were because Linus is setting the high expectation that we don’t see from Paid OS and Paid software. He is defending the philosophy of the next kernel should not destroy all the downstream work people put in. I’m currently working at a place that sells 3rd party software. It is an expensive product and touted as backward compatibility for 40+ years, and their newer versions have taken a F@©k Y0U approach to users. People with decades of files are now getting screwed and the software company turns down regression and bug reports and wants them submitted as feature enhancements. LOL WTF. I wish I could share this letter with their developers and management.
There is a tree right next to it. LOL so obviously space for trees. The trunks take up less space, its just they require pulling up surrounding sidewalk sometimes, and maintenance crew for trimming and watering in dry spells.
Yeah, not diagreeing just explaining
That would be my only complaint about OpenSUSE, the default size for partitions is too conservative. it would default to 30gig and even though there is a snapper cleanup, acheduler updates would fill it up. I now add to the recommended x2, and then the partition always hovers around 70%. The scheduled btrfs and snapper cleanup it keep it managed
Well the car does the math for you, but it is meant for comparison when purchasing because range relies on fuel tank capacities. where as L per 100 k is a fuel efficiency rating regardless of tank size. But it it makes more sense when you have a fleet of vehicles and are doing logistics and need improvements. if you have X dollars to spend on economy it is a linear equation compared to convoluted deminishing returns on low mpg vehicle. Like the quote mentioned 5mpg improvement on one vehicle is not the same efficiency as mpg on another vehicle.
Remember The Ford Fiesta, or was it the Firefly?? Iforget the name but that was a 3 cylinder.
if it was 6÷2x(2+1) they suggested do division and mult from left to right, but 6÷2(2+1) implied a relationship between the number outside the parenthesis and inside them, and as soon as you broke those () you had to do the multiplication immediately that is connected to them. Like some models of calculatora do. wasn’t till a few yeara ago that I heard people were doing it differently.
