For day to day life, weight and mass might as well be the same. I love science and astronomy but I’m not buying a pound of lunch meat at the deli counter to take into space.

To me, kilometers and miles are in a similar class; I don’t have a reason to prefer one over the other. Same with kilos/pounds. Even though a kilo is more than double a pound, it’s used to measure the same kinds of things. As with Centimeters/inches, quarts/liters, yards/meters.

Metric seems to do better at measuring very small things, or very precise things, but lacks middle measures that help with day to day life like Ounces and Feet. If there was a metric foot, like a quarter or third of a meter, it would be more useful. Same if there was a metric ounce, lets say 25 grams (an actual ounce is slightly over 28 grams).

Unsurprising that a guy collapsing the Republic into a fascist dictatorship says that TikTok should be a mouthpiece for the Government. It’s time for someone in a country that ISN’T the US, Russia, or China to start a TikTok rival for people to switch to.

Yeah, but at the time the US could have fought every nation on the planet to a standtill and the USSR could have fought every nation on the planet but the US to a standstill, so there was no way to not make them permanent members of the security council with veto power since they could just ignore other countries if they wanted.

Jewish people have more current claim to Brooklyn than they do to the land that corresponds to ancient Israel and Judea.

Some Israelis are living in the land of their grandfathers but most of them have countries of origin they can be returned to. If that would be bad for them, there’s always countries they can emigrate to. But most solutions that aren’t zionist or “two state” are along the lines of “abolish the ethnostate and replace it with a real democracy” in which case the people currently living in Israel (minus those guilty of crimes against humanity) largely go about their lives as they did before.

Cool but have those countries ended trade with Israel? Declared sanctions? Sent military aid to the PLO? Establish a no-fly zone? I’m glad this happened, its a start, but it’s not enough and Gaza is running out of time.

Good for them. In almost any other situation, I’d urge restrain but right now the Russians aren’t making mistakes, they’re probing for weakness. Since they’re cruising for a bruising, i won’t blame the Poles if they deliver one.

Well, since you don’t seem to pay much attention to history, current events, or geopolitics, there’s no way to answer your question without writing you an essay and that’s not a reasonable thing for you to expect of strangers on the internet.

This is a scenario where the Russias are objectively the worse optoin available but the US violates it’s own stated values with such regularity that half-the world doesn’t trust the US; a number which is growing quickly.
