Now it’s the norm for women to work, couples to not have kids, women to not change their last names.

We are not in a traditional relationship. I do onlyfans for one, I pay him a portion of that to live in his house that he owns. Traditionally a dwelling like this would be co owned by both people int he relationship or at least he would let his woman stay there for free but I am consistent and I know it’s not fair for me to demand tradition compliance out of him but be progressive personally because it benefits him

the issue with that norm is it contradits anohter norm

that most cheaters are never given a second chance, so most cheating victims don’t know if once a cheater always a cheater is true they never find out

being good faith doesn’t mean you are a good debater.

Christopher Hitchens often argued for stuff he didn’t know or care much about but he did an amazing job at it.

Meanwhile a 62 IQ Florida man who thinks the earth is flat might be the most good faith pure of heart debater who beehives that in his heart of heart that the earth is flat. He will be a terrible debater.

What about people who debate issues they don’t agree with and steel man them ? good things have come from this because it causes new people to look at stuff and bring an outside view to things and point out something the activist on either side of a debate haven’t noticed.

It discredits their view points. When you debate you are almost never going to convince the other person the goal is to convince the audience or people who haven’t made up their minds.

That is what I think the left has failed at and it kept me as a baby leftist for a while because I would as a question and they would accuse me of being an alt right troll.

I love debating. I especially love debating right wingers because it’s fun and makes the world better. One thing they are better about one of the few things is answering questions ,if you have questions they have answers. I would make fun of them and ask dumb hypothetical and they would still answer

I would argue the left needs to take some responsibility with getting distracted in the culture war and losing site of the working class. Look at Bernie you can go back to 2016 and see people saying that bernie was a bro candidate and not progressive enough compared to hillarly on insert x wedge issue here

I agree that we need to be more technocratic as I think democracy is kind of running it’s course in the world. Maga also has a lot of contradictions to be fair

I am going to be honest, I think women need to be a a part of this. We are used to being right in regards to gender conflict because usually we are but one thing I agree with men on is that every woman says they want men to share their feelings more but many women lose respect for a man they see as weak.

There just isn’t a gaurentee or even a good enough chance that being a progressive or supporting progressive politics will get you a girlfriend or wife so would this kind of incentive system work ?

If you want the carrot and stick to work you have to give the carrot.

Telling women to just date random progressive guys for the cause even ignoring the fact it’s not ery ethical. I just don’t think you could convince enough women to do it for it to work
