@OptimusPrime I think there is a disconnect between what people say they will do in a survey versus what they actually do once a given situation is upon them.
Would a person make the same decision they made in the past when healthy once the future is now and they are confronted with death? Saying one thing in the abstract is very different than making the final decision in reality.

I had the opportunity to visit San Diego for a workshop in the spring of 2001 when air travel was still a joy. I chose a hotel close to the venue thinking it was walkable, it wasn’t. I had to take a cab to get there though it was about a half a mile away. I moved to a different hotel farther away but close to a Trolley stop that made it much easier to get to the workshop. I have fond memories of this trip and the beauty of San Diego. I to wish it was more walkable.
