4·1 day agoI am well aware of what soulseek is. sockseek is not soulseek though, it’s a vibe coded app that doesn’t share back to the network and causes issues with legitimate clients.

8·2 days agois sockseek one of those clients that doesn’t share back and just leeches off the network?
If so please don’t use it, people have started putting capatchas on their shares because of these clients and it messes up legitimate clients like slskd

5·2 days agocan yt-dlp grab things from deezer?
nah, either on toast or with rice.
Never heard of this book, but now I have it looks like something I definitely want.
It’s raw fish. I don’t care how it’s been prepared, I’m not storing it at room temperature.
no, home canning of meat is really not a good idea due to risk of botulism.
The fish have been frozen before I buy them. I can’t be 100% confident that it’s below -20, but there’s only ever been 1 documented case of anisakis in my country so it’s a risk I’m willing to take.
It works with other fish too. I only use sardines because I don’t have access to herring.

41·7 days agoI don’t get it, this just looks like you’re trying to shoehorn discussion board type software into a comparison tool for microblogging
yeah nah you’re good, no argument here. It’s an interesting point of discussion as to what constitutes environmentally sustainable.
Nothing to do with inspection infrastructure, otherwise they’d be allowed to import kangaroo leather. It was outright banned for sale in California in 2016 due to lobbying by animal rights’ groups. When California makes consumer legislation there tends to be a big flow on effect to other states.

Similar campaigns have been waged elsewhere:
It’s not just the beef industry. Kangaroo exports to the US have been effectively banned due to extensive lobbying by PETA and a largely ignorant seppo population.
It was from the butcher, roo shooting licences are even more restrictive than gun licences.
As far as sustainability goes I think it comes down to whether you look at it under “ideal” conditions or conditions as they are now. Under “least environmental impact, highest farming intensity” I’d agree that pork is probably better, but that’s not how things are.
Kangaroo populations are basically a byproduct of European grazing practices in Australia for sheep and cattle, they’ll exist at more than sustainable population numbers regardless of if they’re harvested or not and thus harvesting them has little to no environmental impact.

it tastes like sour alcoholic loquats, it’s fine for cooking but that’s about it. I’ve got 40 litres of the stuff, along with loquat jam, loquat fruit leather and a tree full of ripe loquats.
