Put on some traditional TV news and you’ll basically be told that there are no civilians there.
The average boomer think the entire place is 100% terrorists. They’re not told about the suffering of innocents. And this isn’t me speaking about America, I’m talking about non-conservative European news. The amount of propaganda is mind boggling.
None of the documentation or statements by US officials are consistent, and appear to include a bit of lying. So people are leaning towards him being at least partially correct in his accusations.
In short, they saw the picture and then began an extended interview where they made a bunch of false claims, and used made up reasons to deny him. Then later claimed they used more reasonable argument, which also doesn’t really hold water.

Most memes or jokes referencing a direct problem in PHP, are old or made by people who haven’t touched the language in a decade(version 7 was in 2015, and it removed/fixed a lot of issues and added needed features).
There’s also the huge looming thing that a lot of programmers forget: Websites like Wikipedia run on PHP, not to mention the amount of WordPress and similar websites are out there. Which means it will keep going strong. And for a while Facebook also used quite a lot of it, to the point where they made a rudimentary compiler instead of rewriting parts in more efficient languanges.
Spending a couple of months in company IT support tends to help people realize better, or make them bitter.
Those TV shows like the IT Crowd aren’t joking with their situations. I’ve literally had to walk across several buildings or go to another town just to plug in the power cable of a monitor, or physically hit the power button, multiple times.
Fun fact: This is why a huge amount of people don’t use self-checkout despite it potentially saving a lot of time. They are afraid the person behind them is going to judge them like this while trying it for the first time.
You are very much correct, and don’t worry about the other comment. You see that elitist take scarily often in some of these communities. I saw one person try to argue that programs should be intentionally made less user friendly, to force people to become better at computers.
They literally don’t understand how most people think and only see things from their own tech perspective.
I don’t remember that one off the top of my head, but I wasn’t implying that it was a bad thing that not every episode ended with a twist. Just saying that there were different types of endings.
There were 150 episodes or so and I haven’t watched all yet, but I seem to remember hearing about some that just ended.
As in: A bad thing happened to a bad person without a twist and the story just stopped.
Absolutely. It’s like people watching Psycho for the first time and recognizing it before the scene happens.
Although I have to say that my favorite missed reference, is the Akira ending. Something similar happens in a bunch of animated shows(South Park as an entire episode about it, which most fans don’t realize is a direct reference). And so many people have a huge “Oh shit” moment when they see the movie and realize.
I’m pretty sure that scene has been parodied or referenced in almost every American comedic show with more than 4-5 seasons.

Twilight zone has so many amazing stories, it’s just annoying that so many end with “and then insert bad twist happened”.
Yeah, I’ve sadly heard similar stories most of my life. For many people it makes things better, but it can also make things “boring”. They don’t get the severe down periods, but it can also make it difficult to experience the highs of enjoyment.
Importantly, treatment is not a cure.
A lot of people put too much faith in curing some things that aren’t really “fixable”.
I know someone who started having suicidal thoughts as a kid. They admitted themselves to a mental hospital in their teens, got diagnosed, tried some medicine and treatement. And almost three decades later they still have those thoughts regularly.
The three people were replaced with a guy who used to work at EA. And one of their first announcements was an unprompted “we wont put loot boxes in the game”…

Construction has started(or will soon) to convert a retired coal power plant in Pennsylvania to gas power, specifically for data-centers. Upon completion in 2027 it will likely be the third most powerful plant in the US.
The largest coal plant in North Dakota was considering shutting down in 2022 over financial issues, but is now approved to power a new data-center park.
Location has been laid out for a new power plant in Texas, from a single AI company you’ve probably never heard of.

On top of that, there was criticism before. There’s that streamer who was mocked relentlessly in comments and some defending him, there were articles about game developer lobby groups complaining that were posted here, etc.
