It’s been awhile since I’ve posted here. For anyone that was interested in Blorp in the past, but it was missing that one feature you needed, chances are that feature has been added/fixed.

My favorite features

  • The best multi account support in any Lemmy or PieFed app, guaranteed!
    • Started your post on the wrong account? No problem! Switch accounts and pickup where you left off
    • Trying to moderate a post from the wrong account? Switch accounts without needing to find your way back to the post.
    • Blorp was meticulously designed from the ground up so none of the links in the app break when you switch accounts. If the content federates with your instance, you’ll see it no matter what account you open the link on!
  • Draft posts
  • Light box feed, beautiful for browsing photography communities or cute cat/dog photos
  • PieFed specific features
    • Post flairs
    • Post poll voting
    • Comment thread locking
    • More to come!
  • Lemmy V1 support
  • Edit text as raw markdown or rich text!
  • Many hours fixing little bugs and annoyances

Please give Blorp a try if you haven’t already ❤️

Thank you! Those are all great ideas, and I need some time to think them over.

How do you feel about animated post/comment score? Because I could add a single “reduce motion” accessibility toggle that turns off both the score animation and auto hiding nav.

Swiping between the tabs inbox would make sense, especially from a material design perspective. But I’m already dealing with some issues where the sidebar shows up or doesn’t show up when swiping, depending on the context. I think you’re objectively right, but I’m going to sit on this one a bit longer until I can make it work really well.

Are the vote animations the colors or the score auto update function?

I like the color indicators for my votes, but would gladly give them up for a “reduce motion” option that kept the docks stable. Persistent docks are far more important to me in terms of app useability.

Totally get it about inbox swiping, seems like a down the line thing that would integrate with the rest of your app design eventually, but is in no way critical even to me as someone who brought it up.

We can keep score colors without the animation. It would just mean any change to score (your vote or the post refreshing with new votes) would render instantly instead of animating the number.
