Fuck the Chair Company. Most tim robinson stuff is just super cringe and unwatchable. Couldn’t get through the first episode.
I watched it and loved it but his humor of definitely not for everyone.
It gets really good in season 8. You have to watch the first seven seasons though, or else you won’t appreciate a handful of references that are essentially cameos which contribute nothing to the plot.
It falls off a cliff in season 9 though
The walking dead after season 1 or 2? I don’t even know where I stopped.
Glen
I’m currently watching it all after giving up on it years ago
I actually didn’t find it bad until around season 5 or 6. The obviously-fake-Glen-death is a waypoint for the show being shitty, that was apparently in season 6.
The multi-community stuff was interesting, as was seeing them finally able to build stuff and using more appropriate weapons than “oh no I don’t have a gun what am I gonna dooooooo I guess I have to use this old soggy shoe I found on the ground instead of literally any hard pointy thing like a fucking screwdriver found in every house ever”
the Sanctuary stuff had some good parts, but was going downhill in 7 & 8
the Whisperer stuff dragged on in 9 & 10
and in 9 & 10 the fight scenes really started becoming terribly cheesy, like just stupid slowmos that give you secondhand embarassment and dumb decisions being made by people who should obviously know better at this point. like why the fuck is Daryl swing a fucking flail on the front line of a battle with barriers and his people literally right next to him, or whatshisname with a mace. like get a goddamn spear for this, you’ve already shown us that you’ve literally practiced EXACTLY this with a shield wall and spears. but oh no we need the main people to have cool new weapons and discontinuous shots of them using them (LOL at Daryl hitting a walker from the right side and getting a jump cut to it being knocked back to the right, not left)
Last season of GoT.
“It gets good at season 3”
Random dude: And that’s how I became a football fan.
Nah. If it’s bad then it should feel bad and I’ll stop watching. Looking at you Magicians.
Lol, this was the one I immediately thought of. I was going to send it to me wife followed by “Magicians.”
The books are quite good though.
The Magicians? Do yourself a favor and continue on (well… Depending on where you stopped, I guess.) To me, Season 1 is a difficult sell. It’s all over the place, and some of the characters are… Not super likeable, ahem. Season 2 gets much better, and season 3+ are my favorite seasons of television, ever.
I finished season one and everything (save like two actors) just absolutely sucked. I have no desire to go back. “What if Harry Potter but horny” just doesn’t do it for me.
Fair. Don’t take this as pressure to watch this. But for what it’s worth, “Harry Potter but horny” is exactly what I grew tired of after S1, and they drop that hook pretty thoroughly.
S2-5 is more like “there’s no such thing as a chosen one. We’re all just fucked up in different ways, and the only way to get meaningful change done is if we try to be better, together - regardless of if we ever manage to grow past that damage”.
Except Alice. Fuck Alice, she never not sucks.
Alice was the Hermione-ish stand in, right? What little I remember, I remember disliking her character the most.
Yep. They changed her pretty drastically from the way she is in the books (which was probably a good idea), but way, WAY overcorrected. I also don’t really like the actor for the role, but that is secondary.
You can totally enjoy something interestingly terrible. You just need the right angle.
Boring is unhealthy though.
the thing that annoys me to no end with binge watching is that you end up missing a lot of stuff in every episode. i used to bingewatch Star Trek TNG back in the day and years later i was rewatching it “one for the evening” type of way - and there were gigantic swaths of episodes I had zero recollections about. I remembered the general outline but much of the specifics just blended into a blur.
Halo. I hate watched it and then got annoyed that they cancelled it right at the point that they actually got to the damn Halo.
Terrible how? If it’s boring terrible, I’m leaving it on in the background and doing other things to pop back for highlight moments.
Poorly conceived or conveyed? I’m making a post and sending some texts to roast the garbage and considering whether I’ll watch the rest based on how much engagement I get.
Terrible as in absolutely irredeemable slop? I’m watching it with a smile on my face, possibly with friends and shots on the table. Hate watching is my jam.
