Yes I nearly got stung once circa 2002, I downloaded some pirated movie off of one of those platforms and shortly after received something in the mail specifically telling me what I downloaded and that I was required to respond to them and they were going to litigate. I did not respond. And the problem seemed to disappear. Thankfully I did not end up being one of those people in the news who was taken to court for millions of dollars.
Growing up for the final 6 months of the 90s, you mean? Napster launched June 1, 1999…
Thank you for bringing logic here. I remember Napster and Kazaa and LimeWire being a problem in the early 2000s.
