The world’s longest train journey is epic — but nobody's ever taken it

Can you travel by rail from Portugal all the way to Singapore? In theory, yes. In practice? Not so much.

This journey goes across 13 countries, and is 11,654 miles or 18,755 kilometres and takes 14 days assuming no connections are missed.

  Building a bridge or tunnel at the Suez canal should be easier. I wonder if the north and south of Africa are connected to by rail.
