There is not a single person that says the Nazis were socialists that are doing it in good faith. It is always a deliberate misinterpretation to simultaneously downplay what the Nazis were and also villify what socialism is.
I’ve seen some “socialism is when the government does stuff” folks think the Nazis were socialist due to using strong state power, ignoring completely that this was in service of private interests.
Anyone who says that never has anything close to a complete argument. Mostly I hear Hitler was an Authoritarian dictator and so was Stalin. See? same thing.
National Socialism was a label invented by Hitler, adding socialism only to seem in favor of the working class. Pure propaganda scam, same as in any faschistic diktatorship gave it an label to be democrats, socialist or communist with only one party (or at least an pseudo opposition with the same idiology) and an omnipotent lider. Always the same “You’ll like our lider, it’s better for your health”.
