I put together a beginner-friendly guide to YouTube ReVanced covering installation steps, key features, and common troubleshooting issues.
It may help users who are getting started or having trouble with setup. I’d also be interested to hear which installation issues others are running into.
So what about Morphe? I though revanced didn’t work so well anymore?
It’s more that the guy who maintains ReVanced was such a dick to all the contributors that many of them up and left, and made Morphe. All the big changes that ReVanced made in the past year or so are only because the existence of Morphe forced the maintainer to get off his ass and start actually accepting updates.
Morphe is a much more feature complete patching solution now, and features a lot more apps with the additional patch sources you can add.
Just the other day I updated YouTube via Revanced and so far everything works except downloading videos.
I’ve seen two people have issues on revanced. Both with buffering issues. Also one with background playback.
When vanced was abandoned, it also limped along for a long time. Youtubes ab tests make stuff break gradually for only some.When I switched and when I made those people switche, all problems went away. I’ve also found the experience nicer on Morphe.
Best I can tell, youtube revanced is a dead mod walking.
PS: Downloading has never worked, and afaik can’t. Morphe has nice integration for an external download app if you’re interested. You can enable a mod to rebind those buttons.
So after a couple days of usage I noticed some issues with buffering as well.

Yeah these can be very weird and inconsistent. For a long time I had videos skip back 5s randomly, haven’t had that happen once on morphe yet.
I did a clean reinstall and YouTube will not play in the background or if I lock my phone. Also I still have the buffering issue at 1 min, usually it eventually plays back ~10 sec and is fine after that, but I have not found a way to fix this on YouTube nor on YouTube music. Any advice?
Could you check if it works when you use morphe instead of revanced?
For the 1min issue on yt you can change the
Default Clientsetting toAndroid VRNot sure about yt music
For me it’s already set to that. Did you mean the auth version or not?

No! without the d it isn’t.
revanced.app is official, but also use morphe not revanced.
My mistake I meant revanced.app thank you though. I switched to morphe.
