It would be great if this instance had jamendo music that is under cc and public domain. Being one of the first services to have free/libre music, jamendo has very good material, which I hardly find in other instances of funkwhale.
I think there is no problem if they published their music with free licenses or public domain. The problem is the artist that published with ambiguous licenses like the Jamendo license, etc.
Well, I simply hit artists up I know and ask them if they want to publish there. If this does not work and the content has a free license, I add it to my lib :)

Maybe its better to ask the artists for publishing their music on a funkwhale-channel, too?

I don’t think its a legal problem, too. I just think its nicer to have artists maintaining their profile
Your right. It is hard, but possible. If you have ideas, make a post about it 😄

Nice. hope it works. What is your funkwhale instance?
https://soundship.de I already shared some content in this community.
Sure, I’m happy to accomodate if I can from a technical perspective. Let me know what I can do to assist this via PM or write back here.
Will your funkwhale instance have public music / playlists or is it only for personal (private) use?
