A community focused on sharing and talking about free/libre/copyleft/public domain resources for educational use. Resources may include things like textbooks, audiobooks, web apps, apps and more. Rules: - Follow Lemmy site-wide rules and Code of Conduct - Prior to posting and if possible, specify the license of the resource(s). The resources should be at least “redistributable” and “remixable” by anyone and everyone. - Avoid sharing resources encouraging nationalism, fascism or one-sided views. International solidarity is key.

Hello, I just made a new community for those who are looking for free/libre and useful resources for furthering their education.

I’m getting an API error when trying to click the link.

If you are using Lemmur, the error is https://lemmy.ml/post/77595

It is because the links about Lemmy are openned inside Lemmur but that breaks everything.

One must always be careful with such things. These days “educational” usually means some form of indoctrination or brainwashing. It also usually means a curriculum that promotes and fosters a student attitude of blind acceptance of whatever is presented to them in the classroom, no matter how insane or ridiculous it might actually be. One very clear and precise example of this was a Muslim Cleric who, using Marxist indoctrination tactics on his followers, blatantly (and ridiculously) told them, “it has been scientifically proven that men having sex with goats is what causes Earthquakes.” His followers blindly accepted this without question and embraced it as if it were scientifically true and proven. This is also the case with most Marxist / Leninist indoctrination; those who are subjected to it are taught to not think for themselves but to blindly accept whatever is presented to them as if it were good for them even though it destroys them as human beings and persons and turns them into mindless zombie drones who will follow whatever orders the State gives them. I fully expect to be banned from this site for this post by the blind, indoctrinated, bigoted and narrow minded individuals who run it. If that’s the case then it’s no big deal for me since it is nothing but a demonstration that I am better off elsewhere, anyway.

You joined just 7 hours ago, and the first thing you do is to yell at this community. Bruh.

I was afraid someone would bring this up. I pick and post resources that are licensed with something that could prove beneficial for the internet community, e.g. something you can take, adjust it and make it your own in case you feel the original doesn’t bode with your personal preference or political stance(s). Additionally, I try my best to post resources that aren’t specifically teaching History, Geography or the likes to avoid a wildfire in the comments (however, that’s not to say History and Geography resources aren’t allowed, far from it.)

Also, you lost me when you started to describe an example about… what now? I literally created the community a day ago, you’re welcome to contribute to it if you want to.

Take a deep breath, forget them wild preconceptions about this site and the community and take a look at c/open_e_resources to see if it confirms your presumptions, I’m sure you’ll find something you’ll like.
