  • It’s so exhausting, but this is the real antisemitism. When you retaliate against Jews for expressing our political opinions, you’re the ones being antisemitic, not the Jews speaking our minds.

It’s a damn shame that so many people are incapable of grasping that Jews can be just as critical of the actions of a foreign government as anyone else. In fact, it is antisemitic to assert that Jews must adhere to some shared belief that doesn’t reflect our reality or values. When Israel acts like a monstrous murderer, this Jew will always call it out.

  • I want a third person single player Superman game, where Superman is actually as OP as he should be. No squish whatsoever unless kryptonite is involved (and kryptonite would have to be very rare). Because he’d be un-killable and have the edge in almost every situation, the game would have to be pretty creative in order to keep it challenging. And no, I don’t want a Clark Kent journalist simulator. I want to have full 3D flight, invulnerability, super-speed, and everything else. The whole shebang. With some creative storytelling and game mechanics, this could be so awesome.

  • I hear you. West is inspirational, and Biden is far too old and not exciting in the least. I don’t like Biden one bit. But unfortunately even if a vote for West is not necessarily a vote for Trump, it’s still a vote against Biden, which makes it more likely that Trump will win. Almost none of us get to vote for a person we actually like, so I’m genuinely begging you to reconsider and vote for someone who has a chance of winning. Unfortunately unless something radical happens in the next few months, that’s only Biden and Trump. If you’re trying to send a message with your vote for West, I don’t think the people that matter will hear it. I wish things were different, but unfortunately this election is between a boring old institutional politician and a racist, fascist, misogynistic, anti-Semitic, insurrectionist rapist.

  • I’ve got a slightly older Sceptre 43 inch 4K, and tbh I’ve been trying to find a replacement for a while. The form factor of the TV itself is great, but the picture is pretty crappy. There’s a ton of light bleed around the edges, the HDR functionality is insanely frustrating and looks terrible, and the upscaling is crap. I got it on a ridiculous sale towards the beginning of the pandemic when local shops were clearing their inventories, so I can’t really complain. But I would not buy it again.

I also have two of their PC monitors, and they have the same problems as the TV. No more Sceptre for me in the future.

  • This isn’t the first time I’ve seen criticisms of her leadership. I remember something coming out about her being completely unprepared like a fish out of water when she first took over USAID, but I’ve had trouble reconciling that against her impressive public appearances where she comes off as competent, empathetic, and extremely knowledgeable.

The most recent pieces have been from totally shit sources, anyone have an article from a respectable outlet that goes into the criticisms in more detail? As skeptical as I am about this newspaper’s credibility, none of the examples seem too out there.

  • Any of the books narrated by Peter Kenny in the Culture series by Iain M. Banks. Banks’ books are my favorite Sci-Fi, and Kenny does such an impressive job of doing an understated reading. He “does the voices” really well so you can tell the characters apart, but it’s all very subtle and easy to listen to. He also does the “techno-babble” so damn well, and captures Banks’ sense of humor perfectly.

I think there’s only one of the Culture books that he didn’t narrate, can’t remember which at the moment.

  • Yeah, this is way more serious than people realize. The extremist Christian evangelical movement has a disproportionate amount of influence over Israel and how the world views it. They fund schools, museums, archaeological digs and many other things, but with an obvious bias, and often not in the best interest of anyone but those who share their apocalyptic worldview.

It’s pretty wild, and can come off as a bit conspiratorial, once you realize that much of the American support for Israel is for the purpose of preparing for a world-ending war and the resurrection of a mythical character who lives in a collection of short stories.
