Can you tell me more about these homemade android TV boxes? I built a really shitty front end to “turn” my Linux based mini PCs into a media streamer but it lacks things like Chromecast and reliability haha

I mean the common thing I see in this thread is just people recommending a docker container that hosts the server. Not really what I would call “3rd party bullshit” and I would absolutely recommend running a game server in a docker container. It makes a lot of things easier.
Unfortunately this is pretty much useless. They collect so much data from so many people that they will simply not use your data for training.
They will continue to sell it though.
About a year ago I got one of those alarm clocks that slowly light up to simulate the sun rise, and that’s been a game changer. I wake up so much easier and feel less groggy when I do.
Highly recommend
I “technically” have busses near my house. The bus stop is on the corner and the grocery store is about 2 miles away. No brainer right?
Nope. Because the bus only comes every 45 minutes (according to the schedule, good luck if you trust it) and it takes 2.5hrs to go from my stop to the one next to the grocery store.
Or I can just walk the 25 mins or whatever it takes me to walk there.
I have a mouse like that but it says Cisco and it’s the blue and grey that the Netgear switches used to be for some reason.
But I got it for free in an industry (IT) event. Same with the 1/3 of my closet that is just branded T-shirts haha
I was a pretty high level athlete (in swimming so not a pro, but did compete at an international level) and I can back this up too.
“Natural Talent” is a thing. But that only really applies to the very very top end of the spectrum. Like professional athletes absolutely have genetic advantages over a normal human. But you can get 98% of the way there through just pure determination, grit, and practice.
I imagine it’s not quite the same for music, but unless you’re trying to become a billboard level musician or someone who travels around putting on shows, you can absolutely become “good enough” just from (in this case) 12 years of dedicated practice.
Because I read the article I actually know the answer! It’s the first time this technology has been used in a human, and it’s been a huge success so far. Quote from the article
The BiVACOR total artificial heart, invented by Queensland-born Dr Daniel Timms, is the world’s first implantable rotary blood pump that can act as a complete replacement for a human heart, using magnetic levitation technology to replicate the natural blood flow of a healthy heart.
I guess it depends on what you define as “basic SQL”. Because most people are already used to working with desktop apps, and familiar with the office programs specifically.
You’d essentially have to teach them programming. Its like when people say “terminal is better than GUI” (it’s me, I say that) but then you forget about all of the people who don’t know the difference between a desktop and a modem
To be fair I think Excel is faster to get a novice up to speed than teaching them to program
Source: Manage SQL database infrastructure for a living
Still probably not. The code also deleted files, deleted accounts, and created infinite loops which took down large chunks of the network and infrastructure.
You could take your code, but you can’t take down the company.
I think a lot of people are still stuck in the HDD days where windows could take 15-20 mins for a cold boot.
But I only sleep windows because I like to get game updates while I sleep.
I only use chrome for my work stuff, and that’s because I work with g-suite a lot.
Chrome fucking sucks
1930 is chosen and is generally recognized as the cutoff for vintage cars
By who? I’m a big car guy and have never heard someone say a car has to be near 100 years old to be vintage. Most laws here in the states say 30. This is the only real source I could find that agrees with you but then it goes on to disagree with itself so idk.
Personally, I’d say “vintage” is 1950s and into the 1960s. I would say the C1 Corvette is “vintage”, but the C2 is “classic”.
So this is a LG Ultragear 34" monitor.
So you have
Sure but the thing with TVs is a manufacturer will over 15 different SKUs of “a TV” that are all pretty different. Plus, a lot of the times (especially for TVs) they will still have a “normal” name.
Like Alienware sells a few different “Alienware 27 Gaming” monitors. But they only sell on “AW2725DM”
Child Sex Abuse Material.
Basically (and usually) child pronography.
I did this with a google home mini. I could not get it to work correctly, got mad, threw it at a wall, and put it in a box.
A few months later I found it, plugged it in, and it works perfectly. Except the strange rattle if you shake it haha
Man do you remember how heated the “PlayStation vs Xbox” arguments used to get ?
I’ve been talking about this for years! I got the idea from razer but I’m imagining the laptop chassis adds a nice screen, enormous battery, better IO, and then it just uses the touch screen as the track pad.
It could be so cool
