Dunno why anyone should be surprised. Israelis are going into Gaza and shooting at anything that moves Hamas. Such blind violence inevitably results in friendly fire fatalities along with those who have the misfortune of being a human living in an open air prison member of Hamas.

We all understand where this is going: They’re going to fire bomb the entire Gaza strip - and then have Israeli settlers methodically sift through the wreckage to murder every survivor Hamas Terrorist.

It’s a simple theology: “Me first. Fuck you. Every man for himself.”

While it fits great on a bumper sticker, it’s a suboptimal strategy to build an economy, nation-state, or anything really.

The US had to twist Egypt’s arm to get them to accept refugees, so that doesn’t explain things entirely.

The reason why neighboring states are reluctant to accept refugees is that they know they will never be able to return, and the influx of people would destabilize their own societies.

The solution isn’t for other countries to start accepting refugees - it’s that the Israelis need to stop murdering them.

The problem is that the Palestinians are stuck in Gaza because no one really cares about them.

Other than Zionists & Israelis, more people across the world care about the plight of Palestinians than support Israel. The US effectively bribes the ruling classes of several middle-eastern countries to prevent popular will from spilling over into open warfare to oppose Israel’s treatment of the indigenous population. It’s impossible to understand how Israel gets away with what it does without acknowledging this.

The issue isn’t about caring … the problem is that Palestinians, and the broader middle-east generally, are being oppressed by a western-backed settler-colonial movement.

Wasn’t Gaza already surrounded before all this? It’s a giant prison - it even has walls around the perimeter.

This isn’t an invasion - they are resecuring the prison.

You need to be more specific. Are you talking about the civilians inside the prison? Or the civilians outside the prison?

The prisoners have to be punished brutally for daring to retaliate against their conditions.

You poor Canadians don’t get to enjoy the joy of financially ruinous hospital bills or depending on GoFundMe to afford medicine.
