Entirely unrelated, but you seem knowledgeable, do you know where I could find English translations of other Metro Universe books? I have only read the “original” 3 featuring Artyom and Homer. I really really want to read the metro book about the annual stalker race around the ring stations but have never found an English translation.

After reading the books, all I want is an open world Metro rpg. Let me play as an unseen observer sent by University station to spy on the rest of the metro’s factions. Let me bet on rat races at Paveletskaya. Let me play as a defender at Sevastopolskaya mowing down hordes of monstrosities. Let me be stalked by Great Worm Cultists near Park Pobedy. Let me compete in the annual stalker race around the ring stations. There are so many factions and independent stations that are never even mentioned in the games let alone visited. I feel like an open world game like that is the only way to do the books justice.

Hell yeah, this is great. I actually just got a nostalgic hair up my ass the other day and found the floppy version of Risk. Shit still hits too! I played an entire match. However it did take me longer to set up dosbox-x than i spent playing so I’m going to look for other old games I used to play so that the juice is worth the squeeze.

Never heard of genP before but m0nkrus is an old hand at cracking the adobe suite. As long as you make sure it’s actually a m0nkrus release you should be fine. They have their own website where I think you might be able to download from the source or at least check hashes or something to verify nothing shady has been added.

I am a big fan of the Red Orchestra/Rising Storm series and there is a mod coming out soon for Rising Storm 2 called Black Orchestra that I’m planning to fill the Battlefield shaped hole in my heart with. It’s in beta right now, but you best believe I’ll be letting everyone know about it when it hits steam.

Lol that’s pretty much how it went for me. One day it pissed me off for the last time. Switched to Jellyfin and never looked back. Should have done it so much sooner.

There is a private tracker named materialize. Small and not easy to get into quickly, but if you’re on other private trackers check their invite forums. You should be able to find a thread (probably closed) if you’re on a big enough private tracker. And then you just wait for them to open the thread and start taking applications again.

If you want to buy a little insurance for your self look into getting a seed box. Then you can download from the seed box with a VPN over sftp. I would think that would be pretty hard to determine what you’re doing but I don’t know enough about it to speak confidently one way or the other.
