Dosbox works just fine on Android. No idea about iPhone.
Works great on Linux-based handhelds, too.
Sounds familiar. I wonder what it is about cider and malt beverages that suddenly don’t settle?
It’s even more crazy to consider the entire filesize for Vagrant Story is around 100mb. It’s incredibly economical for what it achieves.
Knights Field series. I never could get into them back in the day, but I’ve been on a retro kick with my Anbernic and got sucked into them. Ended up putting 20 hours so far into the English translation of the first Japanese KF.
Also, Vagrant Story. Pretty much same scenario where I rented it back in the day and bounced off the combat for not making any sense to me. Tried it recently and really dig it. The combat system is really quite clever once you understand it.
I feel that. It is still the game I have logged the most time with, which considering I’ve got about 1,300 hours in Elite Dangerous is kinda scary. Between the original Xbox, PC, and Xbox One BC, I’ve got about 1,800 hours in it. Thoroughly enjoyed breaking every aspect of Morrowind.
Sarcastic: Indeed.
Wow. So that’s how you can actually do sarcasm on the interwebs!
This is now my headcanon. Han is Chewie’s goodest boy!
Pets don’t get medals!
Except…
Apparently dogs DO get medals, but Chewie gets passed over. Chewbacca has sub-pet status.
Came here for this. I enjoy all three flavors of Mint, personally. XFCE is probably one of the best “lightweight” distros put there and rarely gets mentioned. Cinnamon is perfect for anyone looking for a more user-friendly Ubuntu derivative, and LMDE is probably the most approachable Debian distro out there.
Mint is a great starter distro for just about everybody.
Dude… try rural Illinois. The only internet I can get faster than 3mbps is cellular hotspot, and that’s supposed to be 5G but is usually actually 4G out here. That’s it. I can get dial-up, DSL, cable that is somehow slower than DSL and constantly disconnects, or hotspot from AT&T.
America is far from the best example of decent internet access if you live more than a few miles from a major urban hub. In fact, in rural areas, your options are not only stupidly limited, but also criminally expensive. For land-based internet at 3mbps where I live costs $6 more per month than my sister-in-law’s GB Fiber 20 miles away, and has data caps to boot. It’s insane.
It’s edgier 2G for an edgier generation.
In defense of The Dark Tower… it isn’t an adaptation of the books. It’s a sequel. It continues the story in a way in which Roland finally breaks the loop.
Agreed. It bears so little resemblance to the “”“source material”“” that they were legally required to remove all mentions of Stephen King from the film credits and promotional materials when it released on VHS.
E-vil minds that plot destructioooooon!
Sorcerer of Death’s constructioooon!
Toys’R’Us with Jesus as CEO.
Final Fantasy IX. Just… everything to do with Vivi and Quina. Those to characters cemented IX as my favorite in the series after initially writing it off as inferior to VII and VIII. While those games have some great narratives, Vivi and Quina both do such a great job of exploring what it is to be human, in their own beautiful and heart rending ways.
The entire experience of Outer Wilds.
So many parts of Persona 3, 4, and 5, but especially 4.
Here’s a weird one: Starflight on Genesis. Not so much because of the story or content, but because I played this game so much with a friend of mine in middle school, and had all but forgotten about it. I was playing through some old Genesis games a month or so ago, and started this game up. As soon as the title screen came up, a flood of memories washed over me and took me right back to 1992. Bawled like a kid for about ten minutes as I realized I had an awesome friend that I had basically completely forgotten about.
