This is exactly it. The Muskrats, Benzos, and Zuccs of the world want people to think that the future is only on the cloud, because it benefits their business.

The problem with that is that most people are tech illiterate, and will see the cloud as an easy way to just exist with less wires.

Reading comments from people who just do not care whether they own their software, and now hardware, is alarming.

Hau and Hop from Pokémon Gen 7 and Gen 8 irrationally piss me off every time I have to deal with them. Hop is better by a lot, but the bar is on the floor.

Also just the general conversation between JD and Del in Gears of War 4. The characters are fine. It’s just that every single step forward is met with some snarky little quip or joke. Every time. It takes so much of the seriousness away that made the first three games, and Judgment, feel so much more immense.

I’d rather just pay it once and have it.

That’s also the thing. It came out in June. Prices will not go down. Everyone who wanted one already got one.

Maybe they should come up with something better then. Steam didn’t win the marketplace war by being assholes.

Only thing is he is very aware of this and has since stopped posting content like that, nearly a decade ago, and has removed any of it from his channel, and never talks about it.

He went overboard, seemingly realized his screw up, and stopped with the gun crap. I wouldn’t be following him if he was still posting the gun stuff, but that was even before I found him in 2017.

Unlike a lot of those kind of gun people, he at least seems self aware. Again, this is only since I’ve started watching his content in 2017. No idea how had it was prior to that.

I thought it would be cheaper and easier to do by now. More like a Google Glass kind of thing. But we’re still playing 4 figures for dedicated massive headsets to strap to our heads. No wonder it didn’t take off.

And I mean dedicated like the HTC Vive. Not the Quest.

And on that note, the Commodore X16 from The 8 Bit Guy is built from the ashes of what would have been a C64 successor, post 128. Documentation available is extensive. Of course, it doesn’t ship with a spiral bound manual, so I guess it doesn’t even apply, but, ya know. It’s a cool little thing to tinker with.

My girlfriend let me take over our whole dining room table with my childhood Lionel trains. Things are good right now.

Oh yeah, watching my girlfriend play her Switch 1 now is agonizing. Her birthday is coming up and I think I know exactly what I’m going to be getting for her.

Games like Zelda now load so fast you can’t even see your stats on the loading screen. And ya know, that’s an okay problem to have.

I wonder if it’s because they had 10 million ready to go in June for launch so most people who wanted one got one then. Especially because it’ll never go down in price, why wait until the holidays unless you have kids?

I love mine. The FPS boost alone in Zelda and Pokémon made it worth it for me. Cheaper than the GPU I want for my computer too. Then again, I went all in on the Switch in 2017 after skipping the Wii U, so more performance is fine with me. I do wish there was more stuff announced, though.

Do they… do they know what the C in CES stands for?
