Just a cat on the internet.

You wouldn’t do this to your cat. Or your dog. Or any other pet. Why should they have to go through it?
This point of view seems to be what a lot of evangelicals fall back on whenever you somehow manage to score any points against their orange god.
I’ve heard several of them admit that, “Oh well, the world world is awful, and it’s fine if it ends.” Who gives them the right to make that decision for the rest of us?

Showerthoughts@lemmy.world•My phone, iPad, and laptop finally all use the same USB-C charger. The galaxy is at peace.
2·3 个月前I’ve been trying to do this, but the best I’ve achieved so far is having certain cords using adapters.
TeamSpeak can only replace the voice chatting aspect. The vast majority of people use discord for text chat.
It’s really such a different beast. You can chat in a discord server while you’re on your phone when you’re unavailable to chat on voice. I know teamspeak has an app, but it was clunky last time I bothered with it, and it’s still not that type of experience. People love discord chat, they love the emotes, they love their profiles. I just can’t see a lot of people giving that up.
And like I’ve said earlier, I’m not even sure if most people are aware of the changes or if they even care. The people from Aus or the UK that I’ve seen on discord lately seem like they’re just dealing with the id requirements.

192·4 个月前What discussions happen on discord?
You ever have an issue with anything and you find the answer on some random reddit discussion that ends up in your search results when you’re looking around?
Discord isn’t really like the older methods of chatting, where people used platforms to chat for the sake of chatting. Entire communities from forums decided to just upend everything and move into discord. Niche software and other files are often shared among discord communities, or assistance for said files and programs is offered only through specific discord communities.
The platform is still better than anything we had back in the day, it’s just that for some reason people have decided that everything needs to be stored in there.
Anyway, I don’t see much changing. People will probably attempt to take this culture onto whatever new platform they move onto.

14·4 个月前She didn’t deserve that, and these glasses are so problematic. Too problematic for society, just like so much of the AI products being introduced.
Yes some of the glasses are supposed to have lights, but if you search online you can find plenty of ways to cover or conceal them.
Also myself and my significant other wear prescription glasses that have a similar shape to these. At what point do we have to start being anxious about people starting to slug anyone wearing glasses out of paranoid concerns for their privacy?
I don’t want to deal with any of this. We live in such a dystopian world.

26·4 个月前It’s inevitable. No one should trust the U.S. right now, and countries should be attempting to strengthen relations with each other to deal with the fallout that is bound to occur.
I get this. Work is a bit competitive at times, taking time off is difficult enough. Many doctors also do not take you seriously unless you’ve had an issue for a significant amount of time or unless it’s serious enough.

45·5 个月前I fail to see how this isn’t a good thing?
Yes the AI usage was known about previously, yes, the game probably doesn’t really count as being an indie game, yes game awards are all genuinely terrible, but you have to take what you can get. A small victory is a still a victory.
I upvote a lot, but I don’t always comment as much as I should. I often find that I may or may not have anything particularly new to add to the comments.

Go ahead and start smoking them then I suppose.
They call that brand cowboy killers for a reason.
Depends on if you believe the eeveelutions are cats, but I suppose so.
The Japanese consider them to be good luck too I believe. They apparently do the exact opposite of what others believe, which is warding off evil spirits.

1·6 个月前Perhaps. I’m related to a family of magats, and they love shopping in bulk. Many of their friends do too.
Many of them have this mindset that at some point everything in the world is going to break down and that they’re going to have to bunker down in their houses.
This is where my thoughts come from. I’ve never actually heard it correlated to the rapture itself though, but I figure that’s probably up there on the list.

apocalypserapture. Costco and Sam’s are infested with them.
My wife begged to go to family gatherings the first year we were together even though I told her exactly what they were like and insisted I would rather do anything else.
It only took one holiday season for her to understand, and we no longer have to tolerate this.

I don’t believe in any religion, don’t like religion, but I also realize that it’s not the governments place to tell people what they can and can’t believe.
Besides that, given the specifics of this law it’s rather easy to see it’s not even about religion as a whole. It’s just more Islamophobia.
