There are magnitudes more OC on Reddit than Lemmy just by nature of their user base size. There are bots and reposts, sure, but Lemmy pales in comparison to the amount of OC on Reddit

I’ve noticed this when I used to lurk in subreddits related to what I’m most knowledgeable about. So much misinformation getting upvoted because it’s said confidently

This is the biggest value proposition for it at the moment

I still haven’t received an email verification code from more than a week ago

I primarily read New York Times and Wall Street Journal. Occasionally, I will read The Economist, but I see someone in this thread is heavily opposed to that. I try to expand my readings with other sources but I haven’t gotten hooked on any others yet.

I have a hard time believing I am being that misled by these sources as I don’t read any op-eds and seek more information from other sources for stories I read the most into.
