oh, so just stuff I already knew lol.
well, it’s not a news reel. That my compact dock isn’t working is something I know since June but I never saw the output of such an analyzer dongle, so I found it interesting nonetheless.
Was confused because he’s holding a switch 1 in the thumbnail
I didn’t even realize that (loads no thumbnail on my Lemmy instance), I use DeArrow on YouTube, and while watching the video I did not look at the controllers. Apparently the joycon have a custom skin. There’s a comment on YouTube from someone also confused.
3rd party docks for the most part being incompatible with Switch 2 isn’t news but they explain why. They show using a USB analyzer dongle what the communication between the Switch 2 console and its dock is and what happens with generic docks. An interesting view imo.
So annoying that I can’t use my compact dock when bringing the console to friends.

Stick Fight The Game
All Sonic Racing games (Transformed is the best one but sometimes gets confused with inputs, you may need to delete a config file once in a while but it’s not a Steam Deck-specific problem)
Almost always I find torrenting the most convenient method to download anything. When someone puts some file up for download and that person uses one of those stupid free file hosters, I usually get annoyed by “disable ad blocker”, slow dl speeds, etc.
A torrent makes things so much more convenient.
Wait a few days for CES and see what other vendors will ship with SteamOS. Asus and Lenovo usually allow to limit battery charging. Steam Deck doesn’t.
on GNOME I have a GUI utility that lets you set this and enable/disable with a toggle.
The charging controller must support that feature. Notebooks by Asus, Lenovo and maybe others do, perhaps even the Ally and Legion handhelds, but if the battery controller doesn’t support that, the toggle will do nothing.
