After being here for a while, I realized that my feed is always depressing and negative, and the comments and discussions are as well, to the point where I pretty much stopped using Lemmy for a while. But I guess the solution is simply to seek out other communities that are more positive - there should be plenty to choose from :)
I think it is kinda the same ‘echo chamber’ problem that other social media has - I feel my own opinions are being reinforced to the extreme, and while I am glad to be with like-minded people, it is also very exhausting.
Anyway, time to go exploring new communities!
Yes - it replaces the launcher (your home page, I guess you could say), but you can still download apps from the Google App Store and use them (such as Plex).
I have used FLauncher and now use Projectivity, and it is a great way to get rid of all the ads and bloat while keeping the TV fully functional.
I listen mostly to progressive metal, which is kinda niche, and I’ve found pretty much anything I went looking for. Not sure about indie acts in general. Try browsing their download store - my only gripe with them is that the UI is pretty bad. The service is solid, though.
Also, seeing as they are DRM-free downloads, you could use Qobuz as a supplement to bandcamp for bands that are not on bandcamp, or vice versa :)
