Hard drives aren’t great for archival in general, but any modern drive should work. Grab multiple brands and make at least two copies. Look for sales. Externals regularly go below $15/tb these days.

I’ve been charging my phones exclusively wirelessly (not counting plugging in cars or emergencies) for about 15 years. From Lumia, to OnePlus to Pixel now. Zero issues.
Even iphones finally invented wireless charging a few years ago and it works very well.
I realize it’s not as efficient, but I charge overnight and we’re probably talking about $10/year in losses.
A lot of legacy stuff that’s really expensive and time consuming to upgrade. If it ain’t broken (and protected from the internet), don’t fix it.
Wingspan is great.
Sort of a win since you didn’t even reply to the right comment :-)
I hate to shit on your general point, but they absolutely do ask in this case.
Red light cameras are fine as long as they work properly, but fuck the speed cams. Glad they are still illegal here.
Also zypper is a fantastic package manager.
Super relevant argument that ccp allows some companies to grow before they take over. And yes, obviously nobody would do business in China if they didn’t share the profits. Hopefully nobody will ever do business again with a shithole like russia.
Except Nvidia is the third largest company in the world with a ton of existing IP that they would effectively be handing over to a country that has a history of stealing IP without any repercussions and had the resources to take advantage of that IP and make Nvidia irrelevant.
Right, for profit companies famously have a history of just handing themselves over to totalitarian regimes.
China has no successful companies that aren’t approved, controlled and often subsidized by the party.
Bigger problem than tmsc is that China will just “legitimately” steal all IP and replace them with another company within a year. Moving to China is insane if you don’t plan to bend over for the party.
You’re technically not supposed to invite people you don’t know because you’re responsible for your invitees to some degree.
You do know Firefox has profiles you can use to effectively make it two (or more) separate browsers?
Not shitting on Waterfox, just FYI.
Of course their challenge requires those things. How else could they implement it? Most users will never be presented with a challenge though and it is trivial to disable if you don’t want to ever challenge anyone. I was just saying CF blocks ML crawlers.
Huh? I can reach my site via curl that has neither. How did you come up with this random set of requirements?
I’m not sure how they actually implemented it, but you can easily block ML crawlers via cloud flare. Isn’t just about every small site/service behind CF anyway?
I don’t think that exists. I’m also looking for a cheap way to save my Skype number now that MS is shutting it down and can’t find anything cheaper than $8/mo or so.
I can’t even transfer it to Google voice directly because it is treated as VOIP number so I have to transfer it to a real phone first and then to Google voice. Not sure if it’ll work for SMS verifications after that.
I’ve got 6 in a random mix of brands (Seagate and WD) 8-16Tb that are all older than that. Running 24/7 storing mostly random shit I download. Pulled one out recently because the USB controller died. Still works in a different enclosure now.
I’d definitely have a different setup for data I actually cared about.
