currently, storage space is significantly cheaper than all the cpu power needed to generate the images from a text description. also, what if you actually wanted to view the backgroud of the object? and where’s the advantage besides an at best 40 % increased storage space edficiency? after all, people are taking pictures to actually capture the moment. else they would do voice memos all the time.
People like that guy is the reason some MRIs require you to walk through a metal detector first. People are stupid and will ignore safety measures all the time.
[Completely unrelated to the content] How the heck is this post managing to crash two out of my three lemmy clients?
Libertinus Serif (much nicer Times New Roman-ish serif text font. Huge amount of glyphs, open source font license, great to read on display and on print)
Lato (Sans font which imo compliments Libertinus Serif really good. More for short texts, headlines etc. I wouldn’t recommend it as a UI font. Also permissive font license.)

there’s a typo in your meme, op. The URL is supposed to look something like that

AFAIK if you buy any computer from within the last 20 years, there’s a good chance you can get a 6.X Kernel running on it. 32-bit support is fading out, though. If you buy a 64-bit computer, you’ll be able (with sufficient RAM and hard disk space) to install any modern distro on it.
There’s a hackable smart watch. It’s got a screen and might not be usable for you for any productivity. Completely open source, as it seems. Called bangle.js 2, not too expensive so you might give it a shot?

I’d argue you could even put plastic and sawdust in there and you wouldn’t taste a difference.
Ah, the classic “humans are a joghurt culture to produce plastics for the overlords” hypothesis
Actual shitpost. Holy hell
Who could have guessed that an ancient and forgotten image format suddenly gets that big of a revival.
Reminds me of Zettlr, another very nice Markdown editor.
Nice. Time to buy a used one for a steal
Least insane use case I’ve heard of yet
the fuck? TIL
if you get yourself a (cheap) pasta machine, your tagliatelle will get even better. doing it by hand is a heckload of work, and having a little help will give you all advantages of homemade pasta while not exhausting you rolling and cutting it
Edit: Be aware though. Going back to premade pasta will not be an option afterwards (except for lazy meals)
