That’s why I open-source everything I work on, or at least, everything I have permission to. I have one or two projects where I have friends who have contributed a good amount of code but don’t want it public so I respect their wishes and keep it private. Everything else I work on though, it’s open-source.

If I can’t or won’t continue working on something, maybe someone else can find it useful and continue working on it.

Threats are obviously not justifiable and are not okay but Nintendo has been earning a lot of badwill with gamers recently with their decisions to disallow small esport events. They have also aggressively copyright struck videos in the past that realistically just gave their awesome games free advertising but that’s not okay with them, etc

They seem to make a lot of really dumb business and especially community decisions despite making some incredible games. It’s not too surprising some people would feel burned with that.

I think FPS was actually selected, not frametimes. 1% low frametimes of 89 does not make sense.

There is an issue with the image in the article, but not the one that you might think it was. The FPS should have been more clearly indicated that it was the selected tab and then it probably would have been fine.

For older retro-style game consoles, a CRT still provides a better display experience, on LCDs you get smuging/bluring that just wasn’t present on CRTs for these older consoles. An LCD etc just doesn’t do them justice the way a CRT does.

I think it’s because CRTs seem like such a thing from the 80s, and Shrek is more recent than that, but Shrek and CRTs were both fairly common in the early 2000s.

Also as CRTs become more and more rare as more of them die off and new ones typically aren’t manufactured anymore, it’s not surprising that the prices are just skyrocketing lol

I’m cautiously optimistic. I really hope this isn’t the first GTA game they ruin. I hate that they discarded the additions to GTA V’s single-player in exchange for GTA Online updates, I hope they won’t do that here, even though I did actually enjoy GTA Online too.
