The first one was surprisingly well made, the camera work and the more realistic setting especially.
It felt in parts like a modern film noir. I hope they can keep this up!

It’s funny that he loves oil but at the same time made people think world wide that renewables are actually pretty good in times of crisis and wars.
Also funny that destroying our planet does not freak out many people even if we, well, need it for living and such trivial stuff, but the moment gas costs 10 cent more people switch their thinking.
Sometimes I wonder how we even made it through history and did not die out yet.

Don’t. Or pay premium. If it’s business let the company pay for it. If not, maybe just don’t go.

Thank god! I hope that’s the last time we see Orban for a very very long time!!

“Duh! It’s just an algorithm! We won’t read anything! Promise mmmmkay??” Mark Zuckerberg probably.

The man from Earth. 90 percent take place in a cabin with people talking. Very atmospheric, interesting story that unfolds.

Have fun! I sure did back then, and when I replayed the remaster.
One tip: Somewhere in the sewers (I don’t remember which level) is a field where you encounter lots of enemies (20 or more?). They respawn when you change levels. I used that particular spot to farm, saves you at least some time! And don’t forget the fire horn, it’s extremely powerful and can be bought usually at Garth’s!
Good memories! Thank your for this post! It put a smile on my face!

I played it on the Amstrad CPC, from cassette/tape. Saving/loading from tape took ages, so did the loading for dungeons. I have no idea how I managed to beat this game.
Do yourself a favour. Get the remastered version from gog. It’s the same game, with auto mapping and the ability to save and load whenever you want.
Or… draw maps and go to the adventurer’s guild every few minutes to save your game. And then grind, grind, grind, and grind :) Don’t bother reviving party members in the beginning, it’s too expensive!

My first game I played with the Diamond Monster 3D (Voodoo 1 4 MB) was Tomb Raider 1. I could not believe what was happening. It looked soooo much better, and the frame rates were so fucking high! That really was voodoo magic. I can’t remember something other that magical in all my gaming history.

I’ve got to give credit to the gaming industry, it never fails to surprise me. They are extremely creative in finding new ways to press money out of gamers. I wish they would put that creative energy into their games, but well…
On the other hand, the gamers are not better. They pay for a weapon skin, a loot box, a mini DLC mission, they preorder, they accept always on line, they accept game clients required running in the background, buggy games on release date, now paid mods, kernel level anti cheat. Did I forget something?
Who can blame good old Todd and all the other guys?

Forgive me in saying this, but this whole discussion has gotten way out of proportion. It’s been a while since I’ve seen that many death threats left and right. But that’s the internet nowadays. Tiresome.

I did not mean that crap of course!
But if technology existed that would enhance graphics of old games to look like stuff from 2016 or so that would be pretty neat. I would definitely use it!
But that won’t happen I guess…

If this could be applied to games like Return to Castle Wolfenstein, System Shock 2, Soldier of Fortune, Medal of Honour, Tron 2.0, Call of Duty and all other titles from that era, I would not mind in the slightest.
A man can dream…

I would have bet my soul that Germany would be last place. Wow!

One of the reasons to make gog your primary platform. Download the installer, even older versions if you prefer. Voilà.
It’s the most friendly platform for consumers at the moment.

That’s right, but our energy ministry (Mrs. Reiche) is currently working on correcting that.

It’s unstoppable. But it could go faster…
I mean, why is China investing so heavily into renewables? Not because they want to do good for the planet and from the goodness of their hearts. It’s the cheapest energy source there is, and it could not give less fucks about some global crisis.
So please, EU, put the pedal to the metal.
As a non native English speaker this is painful to read grammatically.

I played Donald Ducks Playground a LOT as a kid on my C64.
I was extremely surprised decades later when I booted it up after such a long time to read his name on the screen!
Thank you Al!! You are a treasure!
I work 13 hours a day, but only three times per week. I have four days a week for me.
I love having four days without work, and 13 hours (it depends on the job of course) is not a hassle.i would not want to go back to a five or six day shift.
But everything else, yeah, he’s got a point. That’s enabling “protest party” Nazis to get the votes they need, and it’s a nightmare. I don’t want to go the way of the US.
