Luxembourgish is basically the dialect they speak in trier but with more french loanwords mixed in - it was constructed post-ww2 for obvious reasons. French is more popular due to the large Portuguese, french and belgian diaspora/commuters, so luxembourgish is only prioritized by like the local right-wing culture war people.
Fun fact its also spoken in Arlon in belgium but is practically extinct there.
Local people speak it of course, its not as politicized as Ukrainian for example, but its losing ground to French which is spoken by more people. So, the culture war types usually want to enforce it as the sole national language, as the large Portuguese and francophone population refuses to learn it. Similar to how flemish speakers in belgium usally know french better than francophones do dutch/flemish.
