Our system is not set up for anything other than to make the richest people richer, by exploiting the labour of the rest of the people.
Our real system, the closed system known as planet Earth is not set up for endless growth of a human economy. All populations go through growth and crash cycles. The longer we push off the decline, the harder the crash will be.
People need to give up on the idea that the replacement rate needs to be met all the time, everywhere.
It is ok, and natural for populations to decrease intermittently.
We have too many people. We can’t find affordable homes for the people we do have. We can’t meet the energy demands of the people today, without borrowing from the well-being of our planet’s future.
People are correctly looking around at the world and deciding they don’t need to be bringing more people into this world as it currently stands.

We’re stuck with the first past the post electoral system which is following the same route of falling into the 2 party trap. Corporations are buying those two parties and they are both further right than I think a lot of Canadians want, but the left leaning parties are a hard option to vote for, out of fear of the rightmost party getting the seat of power.
Trudeau did get elected originally on the promise of electoral reform with the NDP, but that promise was one of many he broke, and who knows how long before we can get it back as a voter issue.
Right now no one can get past the fear of economic uncertainty, which is being used by both the Liberals and Conservatives to ignore things that are much bigger in the long run, like climate change, and electoral stagnation.
From the perspective of a non-influential Canadian citizen, you need to clean house before trust can be restored.
You don’t trust a crack addict because they told you they’re clean. Trust needs to be rebuilt and it takes a lot of time and effort.
Your democracy is sick, and Trump is the symptom, not the problem.

By making the American poor people pay them, they transfer more wealth to the captital class by contracting out jobs to their buddies. Also, it huts sales for the exporters, so its win win for him.
I’m going to take all the sacrifices my parents made to help ensure I have a successful life.
I’m going to have no problem getting a great job with, or without education.
I’m going to get into the housing market on a basic salary no problem.
I’m going to bring kids into this world, and make sure they earn their own way.
I’m going to shame them into leaving home as early as possible, make them rent for most of their life and wonder why they don’t buy a house so they can make money on their investments.
Oh, by the way, i’ll make a ton more money on other peoples kids paying my second, third investment properties mortgage off with their rent.
Then i’ll live a glorious retirement, fully aware that my kids retirement is probably not going to happen ever.

Any product created by a company that has demonstrated evil intent should be considered evil, even if there are legitimate valid uses. You have to trust not only the person using it, but also the company that controls what the device can/will do with or without the users constent.
