If ever there was a case for invading a country, occupying it, and civilising the natives, there is a case for the USA. There is so much horror that could be quickly fixed by bringing it under a colonial government with proper rule-of-law.

Obviously it’s not an actually reasonable point-of-view, but you can really relate how people in past times advocated reforming primitive cultures who practiced cannabalism etc, where no reform is likely to ever come from within.
