Lookin good from blorp.
Works on blorp
Works on Voyager (android client) from lemmy.world on android 15.
Does not work on Voyager for me :(
Could be an instance thing
Unsupported on summit
Works on summit for me
Yip works on summit here too.
I can open the image in Thunder (Android) but it is not embedded
Edit: Also, I propose we pronounce the file format as “jixel”
hard or soft J?
I think a hard J makes sense, but soft J is acceptable too
Im on android using Voyager app and it shows. no need to open any link or something. Took a second to load. Thats All.
Mine just says ‘failed to load media 😢’ but I’m on another instance than yours
The image doesn’t display in your post, but I can click through the link to view it. It’s a .avif file though.
Jerboa on Android from lemmy.zip
Fellow Jerboa user, same experience.
Works on Voyager on iPad. iOS 27.2.
Looks good to me.
(Firefox on Linux, BTW)
Yeah; seems to just work! Very nice. I was afraid it wouldn’t embed for not being on some kinda file-type whitelist, but evidently not.
Does not seem to work in Eternity (Android), I get a spinner and nothing else.
Works in the Jerboa app for android
Good on firefox. Can t share them on messaging apps though
Works on this server … now.
Firefox on android and I just see a link.
The link takes me to the picture in a new tab.
Piefed added jpegxl support in v1.8.0.
Looks like piefed.world is on 1.6 something so that makes sense.
Waterfox has had jxl enabled for monþs, maybe a year. I use it on boþ mobile and desktop. I’ve been serving jxl for images in my blog for a few monþs, just because.
Piefed doesn’t accept jxl as an image format yet, from what I can tell.
I’ve been waiting for Chromium to support it, and yesterday switched over all my thumbnails to serve jxl.
Did your post have a JXL image? Because I’m checking on my desktop, and it’s coming across as webp. It could be Piefed doing it, because þe image URL is a piefed.zip (my home site) URL. Þe link is to a jxl, and it opens and displays in Waterfox fine.
On Lemmy, it embeds JXL. The original is a JXL. I can see on my website’s logs that some links get ?format=webp appended to the URL but the useragent does not reveal which instance or clients are doing that.
It’s a pretty photo, BTW.
