You are welcome. But I have never heard about “inbound PGP encryption”. Does that mean they would encrypt inbound emails with your key? Email is inherently unsecure communication (unless encrypted before sending), so I wonder how much security/privacy does that actually provide.

I have been using Runbox for several years and I’m happy with them. I choose them because they are one of the few email providers that allow you to create aliases/identities.
They are not non-profit, but they say they take ethical (and other) responsibilities very seriously. They do use LLM, but again they say they use it only as a tool and it is used responsibly. They do take transparency seriously, so they have all this information written on their website.
O.o They allowed meetings without registration again? That’s nice!
Last time I checked (long time ago), they reguired an account for a meeting, however their platform didn’t support registrations… which made no sense.

5·10 days agoI do have a tendency to check where the link leads before clicking on it, so the difference between those two is quite obvious to me:
http://example.com/vshttp://xn--exmple-4nf.com/, but a lot of people probably do not do that.I would definitely not click on the second one.

10·12 days agoIt there any TV brand that we can still buy?
I’m not really sure how I will be able to setup TV or something that allows watching TV at this point.

Technology@lemmy.world•I don't like passkeys | Ethan HawksleyEnglish
6·1 month agoIt’s not a bad idea but that idea breaks as soon as you have to change the master password. You would have to change every one of those passkeys. Which could be annoying, if you have a lot of them.
There is also an option to use an email provider that offers proper email aliases, like runbox. This way your real email address (login username) may never reach the internet.

Games@lemmy.world•If Steam were to shut down tomorrow how much money would you have lost in total on games / DLC ??English
72·4 months ago
Every insteresting game I “bought” on Steam is backed up (including a crack if required).
Don’t worry. That option was there as well.
However, depending on the website it may require your watch history before allowing you to login.
It reminds of this:

There were more options on the website, but I forgot the name of the website, and I cannot find it now… :(
It would be nice if they could do the update with a single reboot. It is annoying to type LUKS password multiple times.

Technology@lemmy.world•Plex increasing Lifetime Plex Pass cost to whopping $750English
2·6 months agoThanks. I did miss that one. I was looking for a “Add to this collection” button inside a selected collection.
However I’m not sure if this collection is visible only to a user that created it, or an admin has to create it and it is visible to everyone?
Meatbag!

Technology@lemmy.world•Plex increasing Lifetime Plex Pass cost to whopping $750English
2·6 months agoThanks. It looks like Plex does have more user friendly features, but still no info about relations. That’s a bummer.
It is really important to know the watch order (even if I had to specify it manually). When I think about it, Jellyfin probably fails even for the simplest watch orders like The Lord of the Rings; not to mention Stargate (Movie 1 -> Show -> Movie 2+3).

Technology@lemmy.world•Plex increasing Lifetime Plex Pass cost to whopping $750English
5·6 months agoI never had the chance to try Plex, but how does it compare to Jellyfin? What kind of features does Plex have and Jellyfin does not and vice versa?
Examples of basic features I’m missing in Jellyfin:
- Create a user-defined collection (like group of favourite movies)
- Adding user-defined tags
- Filtering by tags or any meaningful filtering
- Filtering by languages (however this could be done by using combination of 2 different plugins that add tags and create collections)
- [Important] No movie/show relations (e.g. The Lord of the Rings 1 -> 2 -> 3)
- No way to know if movie/show belongs to any collection

Technology@lemmy.world•60% of PC gamers have no plans to build a new PC in the next two years — AI pricing crunch on RAM and other components paralyze enthusiast marketEnglish
5·6 months agoI’m really glad that me and my friends decided to build new PCs the second we saw the first rise in RAM prices. It would have been hard to survive this on our 7-10 years old builds.

Games@lemmy.world•Why are Steam games priced unfairly in Euros indifferent to where one resides?English
36·7 months agoAnd that’s why the only correct choice is a piracy. We just cannot afford to waste that kind of money on unfinished games. Especially while the economy is getting worse and worse.
Or one could play FOSS games. However, in such case I would still recommend supporting the developers as much as one can, if the game is enjoyable. Usually, those games are better than any AAA game that came out lately.

It only takes a couple of times to realize how quickly something you care about can be taken away and you’ll never see/hear it again. It still bothers me that I didn’t download my favourite videos before they got lost forever when they burned the library of Pornhub.
