Fastmail is what i use for this. $50/year. Not gmail. Catch-all email boxes. So i use a new address for everything. It’s not proton. So not sure if it’s even encrypted at rest. But they are not selling my email to advertisers like gmail. And if I want to move I own my domian so its easy.

I use hyper backup to backblaze pretty cheap and to a friends house were I just have a smaller Synology and use hyper backup to store a copy there. And use hyper backup to backup hourly snapshots to a external 12tb drive. I’m only backing up photos from my phone and wife’s phone. And some docs . So it’s maybe 3tb on my main NAS.

So maybe just get a cheap 2 bay Synology? They are like $200 on amazon.
