This is a very unlikely situation.

These stories of nefarious liars abusing poor defenseless corporations would be publicized widely if true. We’d have prominent, well known examples.

This needs people who think the threats and reputational damage of being a whistleblower are worth it for the ‘recognition’, who are smart enough to construct a believable sounding claim but not smart enough to see the inevitable consequences. That specific kind of person is going to be much rarer than people who work for a legitimately shitty company and don’t like it.

No, it’s definitely not. You have to look at the social context of the act, not just the act itself.

To use the most obvious examples, burning an american flag in protest of the vietnam war is clearly an expression of political speech, whereas burning a cross on the lawn of an african-american family’s house is an incitement to violence.

A fascist burning the koran is clearly an incitement to violence and hatred, and not legitimate political speech worth protecting.

I don’t think you’re going to find much concrete evidence on what China does in secret to disappeared billionaires. It probably varies. Some combination of prison, house arrest and re-education are certainly likely. Most guesses probably say more about the poster’s thoughts on China than about China itself.

Incidentally, I desperately wish we could just shove musk in a secret prison for a few months. The amount of power he has is itself a threat to democracy, even if he wasn’t personally a dangerous lunatic.
