Curious if you don’t mind explaining why? I can completely understamd not wanting Amazon Spyware in your home, but if you already have it and use it, what about this upgrade becomes a turnoff? Alexa was always a frustratingly dumb hands free AI. The upgrade seems like it should have happened a long time ago and at least brings a little bit more intelligence to the conversation and better natural language processing. I’m curious why people wouldn’t want that?

Deflock.me is absolutely depressing to see the amount of surveillance present.

Would be great to have a navigation app that could map routes that avoid or minimize the number of surveillance points.

Currently I just try to be diligent about marking any police or ice activity in waze but a FOSS option would be great.

Executing them effectively is extraordinarily difficult though. They are a gimmick in the sens most of the time they give a false sense of security. Trying to get the working in a way that allows kids to use devices effectively but blocks what you want them to block is a very hard line to walk. When you finally feel like you are close there’s a new app or something changes and it’s like you are starting all over again. Apple perhaps has the most usable and consistent ecosystem for this, but it’s still not all that good and the cost of the relative simplicity is a lack of granular control when you want it.

I’m not claiming to have the answer, but I can understand why people are scared and frustrated with the current state of parental controls.

Not a roaster but it’s my understanding that it’s pretty easy to mis-roast a good bean to make it taste bad, but I haven’t heard many stories about roasting a lower quality bean lot into something amazing.

I would think as a home roaster you’d focus your efforts on the best possible beans, but if you can take a lower quality lot and make it taste great, more power to you. I’m not going to turn my nose up at something if it comes out wonderful in the cup.

There’s not many places I feel safe saying this, but I’m going to go ahead and say it here. I don’t really like U2s music. There I said it. I genuinely don’t understand their massive popularity.
