The topic was how much they hoped my garden withered because I couldn’t afford to fully mulch all of it and was saying I was having to constantly weed the edge of my garden.
They proceeded to gleefully wish harm upon me and hardship for not doing or being exactly like them and as I begged for help from others to not feel alone was told I likely deserved it.

Yeah people are truly awful everywhere and not working on getting better.

Yeah, and I am the person I want to be I just don’t expect the change.

I have this insane thought that shorter bans but publicly stated when/why/how-long would be more beneficial to keeping a community aligned when it’s all we got. And that it would be harder to abuse and give insight into mods efforts.

But yeah I have said to others I intend to use it more as a link aggregator by effort but not community.

I can’t be responsible for changing others. That is an unfair request.

Spend money I don’t have to open myself to attacks for people I already say I dislike that don’t like to told what to do at all.

The problem is that there is still to few others than those types. The topic seems secondary. The mellow places are where it’s empty.

Its still a shame that I will never recommend this place to anyone I know until the community changes here.

Its a bit chicken and the egg cause we likely need one for the other. But with the users proclivity for bans, and blocks you end up with a user base even smaller and discussion that more feels like a battle to be right most of the time because intellectual superiority is looked up to rather than conversation.

I still think a community of people competing to be the most right in every comment section does not lead to actual community and doesn’t even help provide facts or info to most communities when there are not many niches to which people in here can participate in. Objective facts work best not in fandoms but in crafts. Like what glue doesn’t melt Styrofoam when doing prop building not which show or game is best.

No you immediately took criticism of a genre as a personal attack because of your own issues. You take it as poor communication because of your own interpretation and the pushback I am giving for your misunderstanding of my point.

I have been consistent with saying it’s a short term fun game for me and that I find other games to be more rewarding.

Don’t blame others for being offended by other peoples opinions. I added to the conversation with an offer of classification of passive horde survivor and an explanation of how I got there.
I’m even having a pleasant conversation about that right next to yours where you have been antagonistic.

Nice, yeah I get it. I keep struggling to play my much slower games when it’s that late part of night and have decided to beat all my Roguelikes I have, but I can’t help but admit I’d rather be playing Katamari Damacy.
Now that’s how I destress. But that’s very passive.

It just doesn’t match that comic cause that’s not demanding people stop enjoying something they like.

I just like it differently and am voicing that. Your take as an attack means you feel a need to defend it preemptively, and over assume I care about you playing it.

Oh for sure. I actually discovered vampire survivors after finding its mobile clones and liked them all but for 20 minutes at a time.

Once I tried to play the OG I just couldn’t help but think of it as a passive game though and it lost my interest for long term play sessions. I think it’s an import point that they are passive.

Its a passive horde survival game.

The game play is rotating the stick in a rough circle so you keep moving that you can do without even having to look at the screen while you hoover up tiny pellets that make you stronger to survive more blobs of color on the screen.
Have any of you ever tried risk of rain or heck even cuphead? You can have rapid gameplay and a point to it. This feels like the modern bathroom book as a game. Fun but just enough to be over when you have finished something more worth your time.

Yeah the true crime has been how awful cut and beige all their clothing options are now. But they have always chased which ever group they think is in power and spending cash and I guess it’s wannabe trad upper middle class now, instead of queer upper middle class.

To be frank,

Constructive criticism has not been well received by anyone lately as apparently everyone just sees it as flat criticism and with the rise of internet echo chambers for every group, criticism in any form immediately points you as an other to be ignored.
People of all walks only want to hear what is convenient and self confirming.

And also, people are not ubermensch and do not just have a working plan that perfectly replaces this one the same way this one is ineffective. It will take conversation and community to figure out what works. No one can plan or act alone.

People have absolutely gotten to a point where they don’t want any criticism even if it is meant to help us come up with plans.

No plan or idea should be single in origin and it’s by the back and forth we find plans… But people are either right or wrong with no in-between in western culture.
