Whoa that’s a neat idea! I assume if it ever caught on, English would eventually drift away from this being phonetic over like a hundred years or whatever, right? But if English were at all reasonable we could also just occasionally hold conferences to update it too

It’s absolutely bananas that this would come up now, because I’m almost finished designing one in FreeCAD lol. Is it in the zeitgeist right now or something? Is it because the most recent No Kings had a yellow umbrella theme?
Mind you, I’m very untalented at CAD, just doing it for funsies and to learn the Assembly workbench. I will upload it to ManyFold when it’s done and tested though if anyone’s interested.
I’m hoping it’ll be sturdy enough to survive blunt impacts, and able to slow down some weaker munitions, but it’s gonna be on the heavy side. Expecting it to cost roughly $100 worth of parts. You could definitely build it WAY cheaper but I’m going all high quality.
Oh definitely, and I do! It’s just heavily dried-beans-and-grains based because they’re dirt cheap and last for ages and filling and nutritious. I don’t have a lot of money… 😅
I decided to stop buying any takeout whatsoever a few weeks ago, and I’ve stuck to it so far. Saving a lot of money with just dried beans and grains, and a good ol’ stovetop pressure cooker

As a non-techy person, I was under the impression from lots of fedi folks that it would either cost a fortune or otherwise be quite impractical to completely divorce ATProto from bluesky itself. However, as a WAFRN enjoyer, Gabbo seems to really know what he’s doing, and he actually prefers ATProto over AP… What’s the actual deal here?? Is it easier than expected somehow?

I’m enjoying !morphmoe@ani.social quite a bit. Basically the concept is, anthropomorphize weird random stuff, except make it cute. I wish there was more diversity in the character design, but it is an anime instance afterall I guess lol
