I wouldn’t get my hopes up… I don’t think you or any other laymen have heard of the term ‘Fermi paradox’ but it does a good job of explaining why (I have heard of it and && have stdied it in great detail because I deal with all kinds of mathematical formulae and theories (+ more) in my field of study))

Privacy is not equal to security. With google/apple, you get security at the cost of privacy. I use a self-compiled custom ROM on my personal phone that contain sensitive data (a high -end Android with latest chipset-- OnePlus 8 Pro).

As daily drivers/ normal usage I use a Galaxy S20 Ultra & iPhone 11 Pro

I always recommend that people who can’t afford high-end secured encrypted hardware/sofrware to stick to “dumb” devices and not buy cheap chinese smartphones as they will inevitably lead to private data breaches. With regards to phones, i recommend the latest Samsung Galaxy S series with Knox/latest iPhones.
