Clubhouse has responded saying they have not experienced a breach of their systems and said that the data is already publicly available and that it can be accessed via their API

I wish, but people have been indoctrinated pretty well by the Western mainstream media to stay afraid of the Four Horsemen of the Infocalypse. You cannot make a horse drink water, only take it there.

People will keep giving away their privacy and liberties until they barely have any, and a tainted person made to feel one with the wrongs starts to sympathise with and love the wrongs, and it is a spiral down rabbit hole with no end.

We must try to be vocal, focused and strong, and be living examples of the ideals we stand for, advocating privacy, security and anonymity, even if in subtle ways, whatever whoever can do.

It could also elicit a so called problem-reaction-solution response where solution brokers propose something not very great either, especially if the media gets involved.

Seems like this is just par for the course now on the internet. If lemmy ever gets big I’m sure someone will find an exploit to dump it’s data.

I always recommend that people who can’t afford high-end secured encrypted hardware/sofrware to stick to “dumb” devices and not buy cheap chinese smartphones as they will inevitably lead to private data breaches. With regards to phones, i recommend the latest Samsung Galaxy S series with Knox/latest iPhones.

        Security != Chinese

        therefore security = USA

but according to Snowden and Wikileaks, Intel/Qualcomm/Cisco/FVEY corps = backdoor = no security

        therefore security = no security

        thus 0=1

Or maybe, “China bad” might be a boogeyman narrative… which one makes sense? Cold War clearly did not help people learn from history.

        spoiler

Do not mind, just playing along.

Well as people already mentioned on this place earlier, Google might already be spying on us through Android itself, so now when I use a Honor phone (made by a Chinese company), I can at least be happy for the Google spy, knowing he’s not spying on me all on his own and might at least have someone to socialize with while doing all the spying along with the fed watching over my Discord account, who is probably at this point scared for life over what people send me on there. 😂

Privacy is not equal to security. With google/apple, you get security at the cost of privacy. I use a self-compiled custom ROM on my personal phone that contain sensitive data (a high -end Android with latest chipset-- OnePlus 8 Pro).

As daily drivers/ normal usage I use a Galaxy S20 Ultra & iPhone 11 Pro

True, I just have one smartphone, that I try to keep as far from my sensitive data as possible, not having any banking apps on it, like they always want you to have and not linking my credit card to any of the Google products. Also trying to use alternative apps that aren’t run by the companies who usually do the spying.

I cant imagine living w/out banking apps (I have a side-business // startup and I sometimes have to deal with on-the-go payments )).

I probably earn more than you (no offense haha) but Im less paranoid about these stuff so why should you be lol? No offence again :)

Please refrain from personal attacks. This is not the place to vent your personal/real-life frustrations, so I recommend that you see a mental healthcare professional (therapist for the layman) instead.

Altleast learn the meaning of the words before you make a clown of yourself by using them in a sentence on the internet. Perhaps then you wouldn’t comment with broken sentences.

You are the definition of a troll. Have fun with that little fact, and the sockpuppets you desperately made to downvote my comment, even though there is no karma rat race on Lemmy.

            Sockpuppets you desperately made

You are projecting, ma’am.Why did you mention yourself (AnAnonymousClown the Sockpuppet) in your own shitcomment? I barely have time to manage my own account. And I’m the one with a comment score of -9 which you achieved via your illegal alternate accounts, Mrs. Troll.

            downvote my comment

Imagine caring about stuff like that. A sign of an unfulfilling life, oh my. Is your transition not going very well? Please ask your doctor for more hormone therapy.

BTW you are the very definition of an unemployed woman (yes, trans women ARE women too though i wouldn’t date one because of reproductive reasons :p (i also got a beautiful fiancee)). I wonder where unemployed people like you get the money for internet access, haha. Must be the public library, right?

You called me a trans woman, even though I am a male, so it does seem you are a homophobe. @dessalines@lemmy.ml here you go, take care of this, they are not a harmless troll.

Ignoring the rest of your unrelated ad hominems because you are irrelevant to me.

Idk what sort of weird tangent you are on about, but it’s clear from your behaviour that you’re a transphobe.

                you are irrelevant to me.

And you are irrelevant to the rest of the world. No one likes you, bigot.
