I have almost all of them. Such a standarized gamer😣

Firefox is not the devil, but “ideologies aside”, the basic idea is:
(Just like microsoft), They could have just decided to put it in one of the “many” variant of the product, name it FoxAI, let the users decide and call a day. Instead, they’ve chosen to force a very heavy component like that on the main version out of blue.
Switched or not. Now, you’ll have ‘way’ more bloat on a browser, who should be focused on speed and performance.
The whole thing about AI on free stuff is to get as much data as possible to train. You have to trust them to switch it off completely.

I’m using it on Linux Mint on an old hp laptop. So far good performance and medium/low CPU usage. Try to set the cache and history to clean after it close.

it was a recent installation of the flatpack version straight from the linux mint app store

I did one update since the installation.

“You will own nothing and you’ll be happy”
I’m a simple guy. Give me a working Cinnamon and I’m happy.
Taco is fine too… I guess…

I may limit myself from buying one as well.

Everyone has. At least they are small enough to be wary of their user base.

Firefox is been my second/third choose for years.

That’ what i mean. Using a clean derivative is better that going back to chromium.

That part of Lemmy didn’t hear of Librewolf, Floorp or Waterfox apparently. Btw, i was rightfully shitting on Firefox for this (i still do). The new ceo “ideas” wasn’t very agreeable, and i’ll totally drop the old Fox the exact second they touch the Adblocks.
I’m 70% there. Game is 100% since i use just the Deck. Browsing and casual also 100%. As a graphic designer i still have to keep Adobe around for now, but i’m also testing out alternative as Gimp, Krita, Kdenlive, Da Vinci and more. I’ll soon upgrade my ssd and use the extra room for a dual boot on my desk. On my portable i already use Mint.
