  • You can get a good air fryer for less than $30 if you look for deals. I snagged mine from a Kohl’s for $25ish. It’s not gigantic, but it makes enough for two, so I’m all set lol

It’s some weird brand name, not like the ninja or other air fryers you see which are way pricier. It does the job, that’s what matters.

Edit: Just looked. It’s the “Gourmia 6 quart” and I’m guessing I got the previous model on clearance, because the new one is like $50 (I’d be very surprised if there were more than minor cosmetic changes compared to the one I got lol). If you’re willing to look online, you might find even better options.

  • I’m talking about outspending on defense and offering settlements. It doesn’t take much to exhaust a wage slave’s capacity to keep a suit going, even pretrial.

There’s a reason most cases settle before trial. The judicial system heavily incentivizes settlement and corporations can spend more on lawyers than their employees can.

The employee’s lawyer is also gauging the cost benefit to their own time spent on the case, so the client/employee ends up getting shafted.

Of course, if there is a really egregious case, like you’re envisioning, that can go farther down the road, but it’s still an uphill battle for the plaintiff.

Edit: All this isn’t even taking into account the fatigue plaintiffs go through, waiting for their cases to even get in front of a judge can take some serious time and then a trial can be even lengthier.

  • Totally get that. And of course!

I think stuff that gets you out of the same headspace and even room in which you game can help reprioritize things.

Video editing is a super useful skill and it may make you want to go out and capture different shots or compile something for someone else, too. My highschool buddy started getting into AV stuff a while ago and just did a really good job compiling the highlights of another of our friend’s weddings and I guarantee all of us are gonna keep that file on some drive for a long time!

As others have said, if it’s that progression loop kinda thing you’re stuck in like with an MMO or online shooter, I say kick that stuff as fast as you can.

If you really wanna keep going with some of the MMO stuff, look into hosting your own game. My buddies and I love old school World of Warcraft and finally decided to host our own server which has been a game changer.

Idk if that’s all gonna be applicable, but you can cut down or out a lot of stuff by just identifying what “itch” is scratched by your gaming. If you take steps to control how you consume that media, you are more aware of the time commitment and effect it has on you.

Hope that helps and it’s awesome you’re looking to introspect about your hobbies!

  • Honestly, mine came about organically with other responsibilities and interests.

Earlier on, I’d moderated myself but picking up another hobby, like playing bass guitar and adding that into my priorities.

Once out of college, other priorities, like making better than decent meals, my significant other, and continuing my tabletop RPG crew kinda helped me stop spending endless weekend or day off hours on a game.

Probably, the largest piece for me is having a family and a friend group that I care to keep up with. When I was younger, I escaped through games, but now I use them more like how I use a book or TV series and look for experiences I’ll find meaningful instead of just grinding rep or xp points in a loop.

  • I liked their feel for sure. I probably wouldn’t go out and buy any more from eBay or whatnot as I already have two, but they were solid and I definitely plan on updating mine.

Can’t speak to their use after the Bluetooth update as I just found out about it, but they were responsive when I used them through stadia and work just as well, if not better, when wired to a computer.

As much as I dislike Google, they did handle this stadia wind down and shuttering pretty well.

Edit: The Bluetooth works just as well! These were my favorite controllers until the PS5 controllers came out (don’t even own a PS5 but picked up a couple for my mobile gaming).

One thing I prefer about Dualsense over the stadia controller is that their buttons are really quiet. I still prefer the feel of the stadia controller, though, so for casual daytime gaming, I think these are gonna be my go to.
