Why so many pedantic idiots? Context lost?

Oh, nice. thank you

Then that will make it easier, thank you
Thank you
I’m not sure about migrating
I didn’t think of launching the kubuntu installed steam but to install fresh in the ram, I have a second m.2 2tb that just needs to be installed in my pc if I am going to install Cachy, but since I took 0 security precautions on my install I didn’t think there would be an issue seeing the .steam folder.
I’ll check that link
I didn’t bother with windows on this machine, my last was dual boot
Thank you
If the distros on the same general kernel line
my kubuntu (24.04.3) is using 6.8 I believe
Just don’t be let down
I won’t be, I am simply exploring some of other options and if there is no noticeable improvement I’ll stick to what I am using. Just wanted to avoid the install if possible (I am so tired after work hours reading/setups gets tedious, if I go full install that will be a weekend thing).
Thank you

Iirc this should give a good reason why, regardless of OS, though he is primarily talking about the windows file transfer dialog. --> https://youtu.be/9gTLDuxmQek

HAAAAHAAAHAAAHAHA (picture that church guy with scary beady eyes, exorcised COVID), I’m sorry, didn’t mean to laughahahahaha
Moved the gf to linux a few months ago, I came back to it as a semi (now exclusively) daily driver a few months before her to ensure she would have a great experience. Everything we need to do is easily covered, though it is still not “ready” for everyone it is ready for a lot of us. She knows nothing about it, just uses it without being spied upon and data harvested. She is happier now than under windows (that she knew just as much about) and I am still her tech support. I will be checking out CachyOS in the next weeks to see if I can squeeze a bit more out of my new hardware. With more normies will come more streamlined usage.
When I started with linux back in 00ish the install took a lot of time and the setup was long, choosing which packages to install, took hundreds of clicks and a lot of time, now… Kubuntu can be installed with less than 15 clicks and 20 mins of your time. Bring on the normies, eventually linux could replace win/mac as the dominant os choice, more normies means support gets better
Ahh, the lovely sound and feel of dragging your fingernails across the blackboard, fun times, fun times

Anal, gods contraception

Thank you. Will do that when I get home
English has a hard enough time being exact as it is, so I do agree with your statement.
I doubt it is the fact they are corrected(using my perspective as I do not know this person), rather HOW they are corrected. Sometimes I see someone correct another using good natured wit and humour, being polite, and the target of said criticism takes it well and learns, other times they are quite unfriendly and harsh. I don’t mind correction that is polite, I will absolutely ignore the advice if rendered harshly and condescendingly.
This goes for other situations as well, not gonna go into them as several are landmines, but the approach to correction needs to be more friendly than aggressive.

Facing North, looking for an example I can’t see an example AnYwHeRe, I’m lookin left and right, nothin…

I was smart(mostly), tested everything on other systems, my laptop has a similar gpu, and left her an escape valve by buying a new m.2 and putting the old one in storage.
We been together 20 yrs, she trusts me. Maybe she turns into a stocking wearing cat-girl… hehe

I am dual booting as I get VR to a better level, but I want that cancer off my system completely one day. Right now I have no monitors for vr performance in linux (any suggestions? FPSVR is my monitor for windows in VR) but it “feels” like often I am getting less than 20 fps (eye fatigue and strain that does not occur in the same games on windows) tho it looks like it is at least 35-60fps in the recorded playback, it just feels off.
I am hoping for some feed back on this from people that have used it. I could use bottles but doesn’t that also require a windows “install” or container type thing like this? I am just exploring different avenues to get things working and this looks promising, tho a VM may make a bit of a dent in my old ryzen 7-3800 and I am fairly confidant if I had an amd card instead of the RTX 4070ti super my experience would be better but that is a cost I cannot swallow yet and I need a new cpu more. In the end I will prolly try to get wine and bottles working but a simple to get running app like this could be the short term answer
Another, “listen to the world” person. Nice
Worse, the slow walker that takes up the whole sidewalk (weaving back and forth) while wearing earbuds and then act upset they didn’t hear “Excuse me” 3x when you push past them
Not a bad idea
