The troubleshooting you list here second is my primary use for a Google search and it is completely garbage. Just like you say, it’s a bunch of trash SEO sites that don’t really address the problem so most of the time I add reddit to the search to get legit answers. Because reddit has a garbage search engine, of course.

Though I have to admit I have given up on that and just use DDG to search for Reddit results. It used to be that I’d start on DDG and if it didn’t have what I need I’d go to Google, but Google search has gotten so bad that I almost never bother anymore.

Because that’s not how it works.

It’s too late for Dems to field an alternative that doesn’t just play spoiler and get Trump elected. And barring some massive turn of events, the spell Trump has on the GOP isn’t going to break. Americans need to game it out long term and think strategically about who will be more likely to lead to the kind of change you’d like to see. Even if you think Biden won’t do any of the things you want to see happen, at least there will be room to talk about it under him. A second Trump presidency will again smother outside opinions under a cloud of chaos and cruelty and incompetence. If you like the abiity to protest - remember how it was dealt with under Trump. Which means for anyone with a shred of humanity - plug your nose if you have to and vote Biden.

That kind of thing will all be doable and everywhere when/if AR is as widespread as smart phones are.

It really drives me crazy people defending the CP2077 debacle these days. Like I get it that it’s a fun game but that’s not what anyone is complaining about. We’re complaining about how it’s not and never will be the game they promoted in countless hours of previews in the months leading up to release.

It seems complaining about Cyberpunk has also become downvote-worthy these days. I think people are just all in on a good redemption arc so when a game is finally good they’re willing to overlook all the early promises that will never be fulfilled.

Hello has really come around when it comes to building the framework for a great sandbox game and if you’re diligent about creating goals and tasks for yourself NMS can be fun. Not to mention seamlessly flying off a planet into space was an amazing novelty.

However if they want me to try Light No Fire they need to do two things: turn the page on the NMS gameplay loop ideally with some truly emergent gameplay, and fix the inconsistent and unintuitive UI. I did really enjoy a lot of my time in NMS but to do so I found I always had the feeling I was working against the system instead of with it.

One of my proudest moments as a child was beating this game. Incidentally, fighting the end boss was the first time my parents caught me swearing.

It’s such a shitty moral quandary. We know all the arguments for combining them and they all make sense from a strategic standpoint but you’re absolutely right that they are in no way similar.

I really think Biden should do more of this kind of thing - making the public case for support in Ukraine. His admin just doesn’t do enough communicating from the bully pulpet and this is just the kind of message that would really benefit from it. That was the best thing Obama did as POTUS: explaining things to the public in an adult way, trusting we’d get it.

The Biden admin should be creating opportunities to distinguish him as the rational adult in the room. Let the GOP do their mudslinging. POTUS should be repeating ‘extremely cheap way to fight a long time enemy’ ‘defeating Russia without American soldiers’ blood’. Seriously, administrations during the cold war would salivate at this opportunity to put Russia on its heels.

Not to mention ‘averting a larger war’ when the GOP is trying to paint him as a warmonger, and ‘averting a nuclear crisis’ when he needs to show he’s got strength even in his 80s.

But the Dems seem to always be too concerned about catering to public opinion instead of using their vast resources to shape it.

And even if they did know about it they wouldn’t have room next to CoD on their harddrive

I’m with you there, I just hope the general public come to that realization.

I hate everything about this: the lack of transparency, the lack of communication, the chaotic back and forth. We don’t know now if the company is now in a better position or worse.

I know it leaves me feeling pretty sick and untrusting about it considering the importance and potential disruptiveness (perhaps extreme) of AI in the coming years.

I mean people set fires and bombs in pursuit of the right to vote and we could argue that climate change is far more existential.
