I as a user hate it, it’s really annoying to find a video that seems interesting or by a creator I like and it’s there, but not available yet. I don’t really get the benefit, even for the content creator.

I dislike them too. I don’t want to get a notification that a video will release in a couple hours, I want to get notified when it’s live.

The only benefit is the real time chat lounge. The few times I’ve watched premieres, it was cool to live-chat with other viewers.

I don’t really get the point of it either. If it’s a video I want to watch, I would like to watch it from the start. That would require me to be there at the start of the livestream, like an appointment, which I don’t think is worth it, just to live-chat with people.

Like, I’m sure there’s some people who don’t mind missing the start or enjoy the live-chatting a lot or just happen to want to watch a video at the time of the premiere anyways. For those, the concept works out, but otherwise it doesn’t feel like it will ever really attract the masses.

Do they even do anything to help creators or is YouTube Premium just “Hey guys, you guys can skip ads and download but please give us money tho” even through there’s website where you can do it for free?
