Yeah, pretty much. CTV, PostMedia (American owned BTW) outlets and honestly just the entire Canadian media landscape are rightwing leaning and have been carefully sowing anti-immigrant hate.
This article in a vacuum isn’t really wrong and it can be argued that it’s “just reporting the facts” but there’s a pattern of promoting articles repeatedly that are just gentle nudges in the direction of hating foreigners.
This isn’t even really news…the numbers dipped from the pandemic and they’re returning to what they were prior.
