I can guarantee you that there will be a much stronger reaction by the German team in case of civil war breaking out in Germany. There have been many statements against the new rise of Nazis by multiple teams in Germany.
What we are looking for is a statement against human rights violations in another country, especially the host. Since the next hosts are the Fascist States of America and Saudi Arabia there will be plenty of opportunity.
It’s still the most powerful statement by a football team that I am aware of, so there is that.
I wouldn’t mind something more powerful, like the abolishment of FIFA or straight up found an alternative organization.
