It’s not a dilemma if supporting SNK means supporting Saudi human rights abuses. Just emulate the ROMs; dilemma solved.
I don’t think they give a shit about people emulating their old classic games, they have modern games.
Cartridge re-releases for the Neo Geo AES+ are $90, so clearly they’re trying to capture a market segment otherwise being served by emulation.
Ah true, I forgot about the console.
You also forget how many people are lazy and will pay for convenience with money, and their own information.
Don’t have to worry about moral dilemas when I can pirate all their games!
Article is pretty straight to the point, but in case someone doesn’t want to read through it, or the title seems too clickbaity, here’s the part that imo sounded like the central idea of the article:

Download any emulator, download ROMs, enjoy. I understand that emulators were difficult to setup in the late 90s/early 2000s, but not anymore.
I had no idea that the fucking Saudis own SNK. I guess it’s a good thing that there’s still no Metal Slug 8, because that’s the only thing I would have wanted from them anyway.
Piracy makes boycotting stuff like this easy
Continuing to consume and engage with their products is not boycotting.
Financial boycotts are still boycotts. In this scenario, it’s not the material that’s problematic (presumably), but rather the financial ties of the parent organization.
Thats true its actually better because the corps get to suffer losses while i still get to enjoy their products anyway, sometimes in ways better then those who actually are paying customers.
Would the more appropriate name be “SSK” as in “Shin Saudi Kikaku”, “New Saudi Project”?
